I have a Pioneer DEH-P4900IB head-unit and i can't turn it up past like 35 without my stock speakers crackling. I done some research on replacing my stock speakers before and most advised using component speakers. I would like to do components but don't really have the funds. Could I just replace them with regular speakers? and Maybe do components later? These are what I've been looking at

http://www.millionbuy.com/piotsa1673r.html

and these for the components

Pioneer is a really good brand. The components are definitely a better way to go, but those 3-ways would be easier to install. (basically just swap and play, you might need an adapter to fit the aftermarket speaker in the factory opening though) If the choice is between those 2 sets i would get the component and get the better sound. Price is always a big part though, so the 3-way would be better if your questioning the price side.

yes i agree^^^^^^ i have allways loved pioneer speakers.

the components will really shine tho with an external amp to drive them.

if yu go the 3-way route yu can all ways lower yure bass settings a littel if yu want to listen to yure music louder without much distortion.

but it will be drastically better than stock fo shoe....

i could get these and 2 sets of the three ways for an entire speaker overhaul for about 115 and free shipping

Cant really beat that price for Pioneer products.

When i get around to upgrading my stock sound this summer I'm going with some components in the front, and a set of 3-way speakers for the backseat. Basically the best of both your options, but powered by an external Arc Audio amp.

The question is how loud do these vol meters get you? It could read 25 like my kenwood radio and blast the heck out of stock speakers. Do you have a sub? These won't get you much bass.
i didnt really get them for the bass just to get rid of static when i turn up the volume. i got 2 10 inch pioneer TS-W250R subs sitting in my basement having trouble on finding a good box that will fit and an amp. speaking of finding a box that will fit do u know the dimensions of the kjs trunk. my cousin found a nice box for the subs but he thinks its too big.

I installed a Pioneer deck in my 08 KK and bought the upgraded Kicker speakers from the Mopar accessory catalog. I think they ran me about $250 for 4 door speakers and two tweeters. They sound awesome. Definitely worth the money.

I have these components in my front doors and dash:

http://signature.crutchfield.com/S-...oneer-Premier-TS-D720C.html?search=D720&ssi=0

I can turn it up as loud as it goes with the High Pass Filter set to 80Hz and the speakers handle it with no problem. If you put some bass to them they will start to distort up close to max but thats with a 60watt RMSx4 amp on them. Ive got MTX speakers in the rear doors and they are good also.

sonicelextronix.com is cheaper than anyplace Ive seen..

What head unit and brand/class amp do you have powering them? Just curious because I'm gathering ideas on how to do my setup.

jeepjeepster, I didn't know it was only 60x4. And here I am thinking if my 50x4 would be enough to make a difference over my head unit's built in amp (or 2OHM at 75x2). It sounds like you are more than happy with what you got over there.

Yup, thats what the speakers are rated to handle so thats what I went with. The stock HU(Mine at least) only puts out 22watts RMS so its over twice what it puts out.
