I have a Rocky road lift on my 05 CRD..... have had a few years...... I was just under the car today, and I noticed that the Big Bush that goes through the Suspension YOKE onto the top of the diff is blown out...... know I can't say that its the lift that has done it...... but I wonder how many people with no lift have had this issue?.... would anyone happen to know the part number for this bush??

Yes they tend to go out alittle quicker with the lifts. JBA make a tri link extension to help extend the life of the top rear balljoint. Best bet is to replace the whole tri link. 102.00 at rock auto.

DO NOT use the cheap tri-links from those suppliers, go MOPAR only
The cheap last just a short time and then you'll be replacing it again
I had to use one and lasted 3 months, lots of others have had the same experience

It may not be possible to replace the ball joint and bushings by pressing them out - the steel used on the tri-link is very thin and tends to deform under the pressure of a press. The easier and faster way is to replace the entire link - but as stated above go with the Mopar unit so you're not doing this job again in 10 or 12 weeks :favorites68:

Being Down Under I don't know of the availability of the tri-link but it is more expensive than aftermarket. Usually runs about $350US - maybe about the same in Oz.

Yeah I would replace the entire thing with a Mopar one. No point is wasting money only to do it proper later.

Thanks TwoBobs..... I get all my parts ex-US anyways... even with our Low dollar its way cheaper than buying them here....... A few suppliers have stopped shipping to Oz, but I am currently using;

OEM Chrysler, Jeep, Dodge, and RAM parts online from Mopar Parts Overstock

I tried to order the Tri-link complete, but they sent me this message;

HELLO CHRYSLER HAS SUPERSEDED THE ARM TO 52088901AE $500.61

OUCH..... So I am going to try and press out the bearing from the existing link..... I'm not tempted to go with a Crown Unit, but I must admit, that the Link that U2 Slow is showing is tempting..... I have a 3" lift, and obviously the factory unit can't cope with that..... so a purpose made after market link, rather than a cheap copy....

Found one of the bushings torn the other day. Ordered both bushings and the balljoint from rockauto... $56 plus some tax & shipping.

I'll post again when I get through the install.
