I've seen the odd KJ in the area with the moulded rail above the windshield... is this a factory item, or do we have a line on them elsewhere?

if so, yep it's factory...but only on Renegade models. It's a more "off-roadish" looking package.

Just a minor curiosity: how do those affect mileage? I do a fair amount of highway driving in-between my beach and trail adventures...

Edit: May seem like a stupid question, but I just wondered if the wind resistance made any difference.

Mileage

My mileage drop by 0.1 MPG when I added the lightbar and basket. The wind noise increased a bit, but the solution to that was to turn the radio up.

JPARTS.COM shows a cost for them.

I ordered mine when I bought the KJ and hadt he dealership install them as an option.

Can't connect to them for some reason, could be the work access....

Has anyone seen them anywhere else? I'm surprised we don't have a How-To for mounting them, I think they look amazing on the KJs I've seen around my parts...

Here's a link to the Ikea-style installation instructions - it's a pdf file so you'll need acrobat reader if you don't have it already.

I know Fouros has installed one of the Renegade light bars, might PM him if you have any specific questions.

They don't get much better than that without a narrative attached...

Light bar

I installed mine, but it was a pain in the ass. I took 5+ hours and if you're not comfortable with wiring diagrams, running wires and drilling holes in your roof, I'd recommed taking it to the dealership.
