New to the fourms so be gentle....lol.

I am finally a proud owner of a '04 jeep liberty renegade. :party36:

Maybe i have just over looked some of the threads i just have not been able to find exactly what i'm looking for. I am looking to upgrade the tires to cooper discoverer stt. Atm i am not looking to lift my jeep just yet (i have a bit before i will be able to lift it). I love the stock 16" rims so i know i sticking with the stock rim for quit some time. I know the stock tires are P235/70/R16. For what i have found the discoverer stt tires do not come in that size. I would be willing to get bigger tires even if i had to backspace the tires. Or even bang out some pinch welds. I am open to any advice out there.

245-70s work well or any tire in that height
spacing the tires out will actually hurt you do to hitting more

I'll repost this from another Liberty forum.

The only sizes of new, not remoulded/re-cap dedicated mud tires/Maximum Traction tires I have seen that will fit an unlifted KJ are the following:
BF Goodridge Mud Terrain T/A KM2 tire.
225-75-16 = 29.29 inches tall $178.00
Or
235-70-16 = 28.95 inches tall. $199.00

Firestone Destination M/T
225-75-16" = 29.29 inches tall $186.00
Kumho Road Venture MT KL71
225-75-16" = 29.29 inches tall $168.00

Yokohama Geolandar M/T Plus
225-75-16" = 29.29 inches tall $167.00

Goodyear Wrangler DuraTrac
225-75-16" = = 29.29 inches tall Not branded as an M/T tire but a very excellent tire. $179.00

Fierce Attitude M/T
225-75-16"
Fierce Tires | Attitude M/T

Cooper Tires:
225-75-16
Cooper Tire & Rubber Company - Tire Comparison ireId2=340&utqg2=&sidewall2=BLK&tireId3=271&utqg3= &sidewall3=OWL

Then there are the remoulded tires from TreadWright
https://www.treadwright.com/p-21-225-75r16-mud-e.aspx
$92.00

The only tires in a 245-70-16" are All Terrain tires.
But there are many different styles to choose from and one might just fit the
bill for you.

BTW, The prices I listed for the M/T tires I took right off of the tirerack.com website.
There might be more, best for you to check the various manufactures.

I have the Cooper Discoverer STT M/T (all 5) on my 04 Rene but 245/75/16 on the stock wheel. I have the OME lift so obviously that size would be too big.
I will say they are great tires, aggressive mud terrain tread and extremely good in mud and rain !!

If I understand you correctly, you think that 254-75-16's are too big with an
OME lift?
Not at all, sure you get a little rubbing here and there but those areas can be "massaged" to get rid of the rubbing.

No no no. I was saying if you DON'T have a lift, that size would be too big. I have 245/75/16 with an OME lift and I only have rubbing on full lock in reverse.
