OK, so I just got my blower motor changed yesterday at a dealers in Mesa. While there I decided to check on prices for the skids, all 4 only $291. Not bad, however the labor cost are $300!!! ouch!! Does anyone know of a reliable place in Az (the valley) that would do these if I bought them or how hard is it, really? Do I have to drill the holes or is it allready for me to screw in? I'm a girl, so will I need some help or just hold the opposite end up with my legs while doing it?? LOL what about the lifts, any suggestions on where to take it? THANKS!! :D
oh, its a 2006 kj

the skids will come with nutzerts and the holes are allready there to place the nutzerts in. so you don't have to thread anything. the gas tank skid and i belive the front engine skid should have the threads already in place to bolt up.

$300 to install the skids is outragous.

There should be a package of bolts and nut-zerts that come with the skids. (factory Mopar skids). Make sure they are included. With the gas tank skid, it will be a lot easier with someone elce helping to hold it up while you thread the bolts.

Just throw a "skid plate party". A case or 2 of cool refreshments, some hot dogs and burgers, and invite a couple of your local AZ KJers and it will be done in no time.

Give Joe a call at Performance Auto (480) 924-7444. They are located in Mesa, just off Superstition Springs Blvd, south of Southern and across from all the car dealerships. His shop put them on my Liberty for free when I bought five new tires from him (the Jeep dealer down the street where I bought my wheels and skids wanted $200.00).

He works on both my Jeeps and the Honda at a very good price and he often throws in freebies after you become a regular customer. He has a good deal on oil changes... pay for one oil change and he gives you two free. I highly recommend this independant shop.

Where did you get the blower motor changed, if you don't mind me asking?
