Skids?

Hi all, how hard is it to mount the trans and X-fer case factory skids. I have the engine one and would like to add the others. How does the 'zert' ?? bolt work that needs to be installed for these?

Any good sources for these??

The factory ones come with instructions and the "zerts" and bolts. I put mine on and they were easy so if I can do it anyone can. The gas tank skid was a little harder for one person to hold it and the hitch up at the same time and thread the bolts. (I have a hitch and the hitch and skid bolt up to the same holes) I got my Son to help hold the other side up so I could start the bolts.

When putting in the "zerts" be careful with the torque wrench. It's easy to overtorque the bolts and strip the "zerts" and then you'll have to buy more ($5 apiece). If you don't happen to have a torque wrench then just be gentle when wrenching.

Good to know. I'm adding the ****** skid this weekend. I already got the nutzerts from the dealership, but had to order them. I wouldn't have been a happy camper if I stripped them out on the first go around.

throw the zerts away and just drill up through the cross members and install carriage bolts, easier, better and you will not have any problems
