She has the 05 Renegade with cruise and facotry single CD player. I just read the How-To, seems easy enough. I'm trying to picture the way the buttons work though, do they sit off to the side? Anyone have or could take a pic would be awesome so I can show her. Thanks. Also I guess I dont need the $90 spring since I am workin on an 05 right?

I didn't...but it could have been a fluke thing. Nobody else that's done this mod in an '05+ has posted any results.

Here's a pic of the back of my steering wheel, after the mod. Sorry about the crappy pic, camera phone, bad light.

Pic was fine for me Im used to seeing and taking cell phone pics lol.

One question though, do you buy the new plastic backing for the switched to mount on or do you have to drill it out.

You can use a dremel on your existing backing. Between the way the backing is made and the switches, it will be clear what needs to be removed and it doesn't have to be a pretty cut. You can see it in the picture, the switch has plastic around it that will cover up the edges and make the install look clean.

I was about to do this same mod, so from my understanding of the writeup, you DO need the spring, but maybe I just need clarification on that part. When you find out, do post your findings.
