In December, we bought an 02 Liberty Limited and have been having the off and on heat problems that I have read so much about on this forum.

We changed the thermostat. The water pump was replaced. The heater core was back flushed and appeared ok. Cooling system was flushed also. Blend door was checked and it worked as it should. With the fan on 1 or 2, you would have hot air. Put it on 3 or 4, and the air would start to cool down. Well, I finally just told a friend who owns a tire store to just replace the heater core.

Wow, the heat pours out now on any speed. Core must have been partially blocked. Anyway, the problem is solved and daughter now has a really nice ride and can stay warm now.

Congrats on finding the problem - those heater cores are frustrating because there's no way to really clear out any blockages. Once they're plugged they're plugged :(

Glad your daughter is a happy KJ driver now! :waytogo:
