I have a 2005 Liberty Sport and I really hate the size of stock tires i was wondering if i could use the spidertrax 1.25" spacers and go to the 245/70/16 tires with out having to put a lift on my jeep, i have no clue if it'll rub or not.

But it really depends on how much it springs have sagged bc I could only fit 245/65/17 when I got my bigger tires before my lift

Right, but 245/70-16 should fit on a bone stock KJ.

245 may give a little rubbing at full lock on the sway bar. Depends on the KJ and the tread on the tire. Every 245 is different.

245/70 WITH spacers may give some issues. You definitely won't rub the sway bar, but will most likely have to pound the pinch weld and do a little work on the front of the wheelwell behind the bumper.

as mentioned above 245-70-16 will rub only when fully turned backing up, thats it, using spacers you will be causing more problems that what they are worth unlifted

Bleh anything i can do i already have a set of spacers but should i use a different tire or just leave em off all together unfortunately i don't have the money for a lift right now and i don't like the small tires. I was wanting to go with a set of General Grabber AT 2's.

I am 90% sure I just got a bum set, but I'd be cautious with that one. 30k miles and they look great but I am ditching them due to vibration and noise. And no, not mis-balanced tires, vibration.

If you're interested, I'll have (5) 1/2 worn AT2's (245/70-16) for sale on Friday. $200 takes all 5.

Lift your kj then fit the spacers!
We are lifted with a Frankenlift and clevis lift and Spidertrax 1,25 inch spacers, after one week of driving we get a little rubbing when the steering wheel is turned lock to lock right-on the sway bar.
ocasionally the plastic inner fender liner rubs on the portion where the pinch weld is.
But again, only on the passengers side.
I will be beating down the pinch welds tomorrow morining just to take care of the problem.
No contact on the fog light door area yet!
I say yet 'cause we have not yet taken it off road...
That happens this weekend!

I retract my revious statement...

Just wanted to update so I don't scare anyone off.

30k miles on my Grabbers. I was SURE it was tire noise...well, it wasn't!!!!

So, I bought new tires and kept the Grabbers. They will go back on once the new shoes wear out.

I liked the Grabbers and wouldn't hesitate to buy them again.

Panda you will be good on the 245/70/16's that's what I run.. I have the Firestone Destinations A/T's and I love them.. As far as rubbing issues I'm 2WD with Stock stuff and I don't have any rubbing at full lock reversing or going forward.. that well said.. you try to put your hand inbetween the front of the wheel and the wheel well.. it ain't happening when you turn the wheels.. but no rubbing yet.. and my springs are sagging bad.. need to get some new ones..
