So I've had this squeaking noise coming from the Right Rear "FOREVER!!". It's recently been getting louder. It has nothing to do with the shock or shock mount area, as I did the up/down and side to side test against the shock itself. I had the issue with the shock in the past and I resolved it.

After getting underneath, I found that I can push up on on the bottom frame of my jeep and hear the creaking/squeaking noise. I do this on the Right Rear side with 100% success to make the noise. I do it on the Left Rear side and only hear it with enough force (but the noise still comes from the Right Rear side).

So, do I need pics of the area in question?? I think I will get those tomorrow. As for now, I have no clue how to fix it. Again my shock is not moving, so that eliminates any shock mount issue.

**EDIT**
Rear Control arm is what I'm talking about, from the Frame to the Rear Axle (I think) haha.

Thanks for any help!!

I hear noise from my rear end also. (No pun intended) lol3.gif

I will crawl under mine tomorrow and poke around to see if I can reproduce anything similar.

I had a squeek like that in my front end before. It turned out to be the swaybar bushings needing a little lubrication. I took a can of silicone lube in a can with the little straw thing and just sprayed em and went for a drive, they shut right up. You might have similar luck with the rear swaybar bushings

Two things to check, both caused such noises on my 02 limited and one has returned:

1. Sway arm bushings (I think they're doing it again - 3 years later)
2. on the rear axle, facing the rear, there's a stiff cable attached with a clamp - mine was rubbing, I bent it out a bit on a hunch and the noise went away (this was soon after I got it). I never traced this cable to see where it goes

Great responses. I will be checking these things in the afternoon. I'll look back here before I do to see if there is any more advice.
