Yep they've been around for a few years now. From poeple that run them here in CO they work very well but a royal pain in the a$$ to install and no tire shops around here will touch them or regular beadlocks.because of that you must install the Stauns yourself along with mount the tires on the rims also, not a easy feat without a tire machine.

sounds like you guys need to find a better tire shop
the guys around here will mount and balance any thing
they took on my LTB's no questions ,until they needed to add almost a full POUND of weight to 1 of the 5
but they will mount tires with those in them no doubt

Just remember there is only one maker of DOT approved beadlocks(Hutchenson beadlocks),CO is big on offroading and I'm afraid most shops are under a very watchful eye about breaking the laws.Stauns are just a total pain to install so most places won't touch them, just like it's next to impossible to find a place around here that will balance a 36"+ tires(for less then $50 per tire).A LTB swamper is a breeze compared to installing a Stuan internal beadlock, you could mount/balance probally 20-25 LTB's(lets say 33") before you'd be able to just install 1 Staun beadlock.

But it's more a liability issue then anything around here.

It is crap like that right there that keeps me in south Louisiana
not you or what you said but the "we dont want to take a chance cause you may be a dumm butt and kill your self" issue
heck the local shop can and will do ANY size tire you bring him NO QUESTIONS ASKED as long as you pay cash he could care less
also does great diff work and has a "****** man" that works for cash and I can ride my bike to and from his shop
what more could you ask for?

Good day,
Just out of curiosity, I'm getting a price quote for 4 STASBLN1679
16d x 7-9w
Here is the companies take:
Now available at NSOR and Sport Trucks. Staun Beadlocks are a relatively inexpensive and easy solution for those looking to have double beadlocks. No special rim is required and they are easy to install. If you are tired of rolling your tires off the rim but trying to avoid the hassles of regular beadlock rims take a look at this Staun product.

I dont think they are really needed for a KJ
you can run just about any 245/75 MT down to 12 psi on the trail with no issues we do it with the MTR's on the OE wheels
no we have a full matching spare and CO2 should we need it
