installed my first window repair kit in my 06 libby today drivers side front.
VERY HAPPY with the quality of the product and the excellent instructions.
one window done, 3 more to go.
they should have come from the factory like this.
sorry I didn't take pics ,I was working outside and wanted to get it done.

very straight forward,he walks you through step by step.
the only thing I did differently was remove the top bolt in the window regulator to make it easier to put everything back in the door.

My used 2006 CRD had a non-functioning right rear window when I purchased it. The previous owner was kind enough to fix it (replaced the entire regulator) before he handed the keys over. Yesterday the left rear window failed. I had bookmarked this Steiger replacement when researching the vehicle (I knew I'd have windows fail), so I'm about to make the purchase and do the install.

Directed at New Jeep Owner particularly - it's been two years ish since you installed the Steiger kit - is it still holding up good? I just bought a KJ and both rears need fixing (I was aware of this before I bought it), just wondering if the Steiger kit is as reliable as it is easy (seems to be anyway)

FWIW, I intsalled a cheaper (but still all metal) clip at about a third of the cost of the Steiger part, and it's been performing perfectly. The Steiger instructions tell you to drill out rivets to take apart the track that holds the coil that drives the window, but in fact you only need bend the piece at the top of the track to slide the coil out (thus saving you from altering the original construction, drilling out rivets, and having to replace them with bolts). It's a pretty easy task with plenty of "how to's" online. Should take less than two hours for someone with a general knowledge of how a screw driver and socket wrench function.

There are kits advertised as a better (stronger/faster) set up that utilize thin cables more typical of what you'd see in today's vehicles instead of the coil drive, but I'm not convinced they're stronger (perhaps the opposite). The motors tend to be fine when the Liberty Windows fail, so simply replacing the clip that breaks (and keeping the original regulator set up) is the way to go.

I have an 07 and my right rear window was down this evening. The site above says his parts won't work for an 07? What gives?
