I am about to do the first oil change on my wife '06 liberty. I've heard good stuff about the wal-mart supertech oil filters and I used them in my car, anyone know offhand what part number it is? STXXX?

Thanks

I have no experience with 'supertech' but PureOne Purolater filters are great filters and they are backed with alot of research. Number on those is PL20195..

From a bit of research it appears that they used to be made by QuakerState, did a bit more found out they were made by Pennzoil before that. Looks like they were most recently made by Champion Labs. So you never really know who actually makes your filter. In my opinion just spend a bit extra and get a name brand filter.

I just went down to Wal-Mart and while I was there I compared the SuperTech to Fram and Motorcraft. I noticed that the ST3600 looked like a cheap piece of crap compared to the Fram 3600. The MotorCraft FL400S looked the best of all. This is just from comparing the ends, but for just about 80 cents saved it's not clearly worth the SuperTech.
