Nothing stolen, I don't even know why the would break the window but they did :favorites68: So I send my wife to work in my Liberty so I can fix hers, The junkyards around here want 300 for the rear window so I decide that I would just pull the one off of the Renegade for now and get a new one for the Rene when I have a little extra money. Because my kids ride in this one I wanted to be extra sure that all of the glass was out of the interior so I broke out the shop vac and sucked all of the broken glass up, I went ahead and vacumed the entire truck as well as pulled the tailgate trim panel and even the spare tire off to get all of the glass out. Then I installed the window from the Rene, put all of my wifes stuff back in her truck, and installed the trim on the tailgate. The last thing I had to do was put the spare on which I did as well as the cover and just when I had finished and I stepped back to make sure the tire cover was on straight the new back window exploded! :favorites68::favorites68::favorites68::favorites68::favorites68: The only thing I can figure is I tightened the screws through the glass too tight (although I don't see how as I just used a torx screwdriver.) Now I have to buy 2 new windows...

Y'know some of us did stupid stuff when we were kids but never the stuff you see nowadays. Occasionally you will hear of a rash of vandalism like tire or soft top slashing. That can get very expensive plus you often lose a day of work getting the repairs done. I swear kids have no morals today.

I assume you can't run it through your insurance? Will it bump up your rates?

I could run it through the insurance but it is a $250.00 deductible and I am sure my rates will go up...Just not worth it.

With the junkyards wanting $300.00 for the window I decided to call glassmasters to see what they would charge and I couldn't believe it but it was only $150.00 and they came out to my house and installed it. The junkyard is crazy!! The new window is actually better than the old on in 2 ways, one it is factory tinted instead of the crappy tint that was on the Jeep when we bought and 2. It came with the small pad at the bottom to push the window closed with (I have been meaning to buy these from the Jeep dealer anyway) and I found out why the second window broke, there was a small piece of glass stuck to the underside of the hinge and when I tightened the bolt down it was pushing down on the glass.

I am glad that you got the window at a fairly good price.
I would be tempted to leave the doors unlocked and a big pit pull in the back!

That's some bad luck, I imagine your neighbors heard some interesting language when the second one went - I know mine would! :)

3x1000 watt lights? Damn... you don't want to forget to turn those off! You can probably see your meter speed up when you turn them on!
