My old bushings were making a lot of noise and looking rather oval so i pulled them out and looked at my options for repacing/upgrading. Its all apart now so i looked to see what the local stores had, im going to try out these energy suspension 1 1/4 sway bushings and mounts. I like the idea that they had grease zirks. The braket they come with looks a little weak:rolleyes: but ill give it a shot and see if they hold up. The holes bolt holes need to be a little larger and it will need 1/4 spacer to mount up like stock. so well see how these work. but for $20 a pair cant go wrong

Twack dude. If they work, post the energy Suspensions Part Number for me please. My rubber bushings are looking pretty ragged and will be due for replacement soon.

they are simply the 1 1/4 sway bar bushings that they stock on the shelves at advanced auto. like i said they need a spacer and larger holes, but i can deal with a little work for grease-able bushings. Ill post pictures of it done and how to do it once they're done

Nothing like that on the shelves here. Need a Part #. Please?

Part No. 9.5165R from advanced auto
Part No. 2-5110R from summit, I believe is the exact size.

but if i were you i would wait till i try them out, just in case there is an issue. The other option out there is order the daystar swaybushing, Then you use the stock mounts and drill both the bushing and the mount and install a grease zirk on that.

I would think a piece of 1/4" bar stock to make a solid spacer under the mounts would work... Let us know how it turns out!

A while ago the design Center at Energy Suspension had a call to bring in some Kj's for fitting.
I just emailed them, will post back the results. Surely by now they should have made some poly bushings for the KJ.

like i said there are a few companys out there that make poly bushings but so far i havnt seen any that are greasable and are designed to hold grease like these are

Nice, looks good. I can't even find a price on stock replacements as most places don't have them in the online catalog, not even rockauto lists them, and then of course they aren't greaseable so i think this is a good option.

stock rubber replacements
http://www.4wd.com/productdetails.aspx?partID=52004

poly replacements, that theoretically could be drilled for a grease zirk, but still dosnt have grease channels. dont know if that is a price for a set or just 1
http://www.eautoworks.com/product-Daystar-188668.htm

Thanks for the links...

The Daystar seems to be price per, ouch spendy, and the stockers are ultra cheap... Could buy a half dozen sets for the cost of greaseable ones, but i know thats not the point here.

I think the $20 set from Advance and a spacer works just fine, and you have a greaseable part when your done. Next time i'm in the store i will see if they have any on special, i have an old rebate card from them thats still good from when i bought some stuff and they were running a promotion and i think i got like $20 on there, i could get a set and toss them on the shelf in case i need them down the road.

honestly i think the best way to go if your real **** is: get the daystar bushings drill them out and use a dremel to carve out a grease channel. ill have pics of mine install and greased later today

I have the daystar ones brand new in the package. When I finally get the front springs and put them on with the ranchos I will see how mine are (they came with the spacers).

Anyone wanna trade the bushings for longer front bumpstops?

If you got to summit racing and search for 30mm sway bushing and you will see many ideas to work with at decent prices.

but boulderbars has daystar sway bushings for $27. when you go to the page you cant really see the listing because the words behind it cover it but if you look they have them.

So far Ive had them on for at least a week and im lovin it. Really quiet, the only thing i will note is that the grease zirk sticks straight forward, so you cant use a straight pipe grease gun, I greased them as i installed them but a flexible head should fit in there

haha if you like colors you can order the daystars in just about any color under the son. i used the 1 1\4 because advanced only carries like 4 sizes. that size works good for me. if your ordering outside of advanced you could try any size from 30mm-31.5 and it would work fine. my goal for this project was to make greasable bushings that you could find at a local store. thats why i went with the 1 1\4.
