I have been chasing problems without any MIL, engine lights or codes.
Symptoms include starting cold and almost stalls & then gets going normal within 2 seconds.
Surging idle with throttle advanced to aprox 1700 rpm see video:

I wanted to find a new Hall effect sensor!
Conventional original equipment and replacement throttle position sensors have metal contact fingers that sweep across a printed resistor board to indicate throttle position.
Repetitive motion and vehicle vibration can cause these fingers to wear holes in the board, causing dead spots that result in engine hesitation / surging & and other drivability issues.
I knew of a company called Airtex and called them to see if they actually did have a new series of hall effect TPS sensor for the KJ!

Unfortunately their current production of TPS sensors are not hall affect and made only to OEM specs. Will they ever make one, who knows at this moment.
If anyone knows of a hall effect TPS sensor for the KJ speak up!
So I had no choice as the Jeep was running like an ole bucket, but to buy an OEM Mopar TPS.

The old sensor was chewed up a bit..

and live data graph scan may have shown the exact interior fault position.
Unfortunately the shop that has the SnapOn Ultra was closed. The 5V VOM sweep proved to be inconclusive of a dead spot.
Anyways, I hope this information may prove to be helpful!
My Jeep no longer has the surging rpm, and it started right up without wanting to stall today after the New TPS was installed.
You do turn the TPS slightly clockwise to align the interior throttle tab, holding it inwards, then swing it back counter clockwise 1/4 inch aprox, to now tighten bolts back in.
Most is good under the hood now! arty52:
