I live in Australia and have a 2008 Jeep Liberty KK diesel with a Steinbauer chip and it has travelled only 60,000 miles. I have had it since new, it is regularly serviced and tows a small caravan (total loaded weight 1.6 ton) once a year for no more than 2000 miles. I have had no issues other than a blown turbo hose and I have recently replaced the timing belt. I use a local mechanic for all servicing. I live in a regional area where most of my driving is at highway speeds. I have arrived at a time in my life where I need to make a decision as to whether keep my Jeep forever or trade her in and purchase another vehicle. I would really appreciate your comments and views.

With that low of mileage , I'd keep her!
I never get rid of one with any less than 200,000 or more

People treat me like mine was new and I bought it with 42,000 miles on it. I'm at 78,000 miles now and it still feels like new to me.

Now, if you were having major problems it might be different, but if everything is running smoothly you should get years and years more out of it. Of course, general statistics do not apply for specific cases, so your call. :)

I guess the big question is, what is parts and service availability in your part of Aussieland. Have you access to a competent tech? Especially one versed in the diesel in your rig? If you're not the handy DIY wrenching type, that could play a big role in your decision making process.

Thanks guys. I do have a competent mechanic and parts are fairly readily available. I am not a DIY guy. Sorry I should have provided a bit more background. I understand that the final call is up to me . I was just looking for comments from fellow KK owners sharing their own experience. In my view in Australia, Jeep does not have a good name, but in my experience I have had a good run with my vehicle and it has the torque that most other vehicles, even the latest 2016 models cannot match. Great foe towing Regards from Downunder !
