Hi all, I have a 2006 sport......i installed a hitch awhile back.....but now need to install the wire harness. Probably go with a 7 pin, or 4 pin.....anyone know how hard this might be to do and where to get the plug in kit?

Thanks all....Ken

Thanks for the response.......viewed the you tube video....looks easy for a 4 pin. I would prefer the 7 pin for more options like you said. How much harder is that to do? From what i have seen so far......sounds like you have to pull apart a bunch of trim inside to run wires to the battery and get an extra piece if you don't have the overhead console (which i do not). Thanks for the info, i am hoping to not have to rip the interior apart. :)

Also.......withOUT the engine driven cooling fan, am i correct in that you can only tow 2000lbs, but if i add the fan it bumps the towing to 5000lbs??

Thanks Ken

There's nothing really stopping a KJ from towing the full 5000lbs. The tow package helps to keep the KJ engine and ****** cooler. You do risk overheating with out extra cooling but it you are towing short distances it should be fine.

I agree with Rudy. Truth be told, I don't think it really makes that much of a difference. If you are nervous, buy a trans temp gauge and watch it.
