I posted a few days ago about my 06 liberty vibrating real ******* the interstate for about 30 seconds l. Immediately after it quit vibrating check engine light came on. I pulled the code today. I got a p0700 and a p0740 both being transmission related. I can't remember which one it was but one of them even said torque converter solinoid switch circuit or something of that nature. Any ideas? Is it as simple as replacing the torque converter?

I had those exact codes on and off for a few years. By the time you get the TC code, the TC has already begun to disintegrate and clog up the rest of the trans, even more of a sure bet if you're getting vibrations. Plus the other clutches are likely in bad shape too, on mine the reverse and overdrive clutches were starting to go out. I ended up getting the trans rebuilt with some upgrades, not worth the effort to just replace the TC.

Have a shop read the CVIs and double check, but it sounds just like my story and it's pretty common. Sorry for the bad news.

The transmission shifts really smooth. Another thing it does it when your cruising between 30 and 50 mph at low rpm's you can feel the transmission shifting back and forth or it might be the torque converter locking and unlocking. Not sure which. When it's at higher rpm's it doesn't do it.

Mine used to do that exact same thing. It's the TC locking and unlocking. It used to do it like at 40.
Here's my old thread. Good info in it, especially towards the end when I finally came to grips with it lol.
