Hey all

I just bought an 05 Liberty Limited w/ tow package that needed a bit of work and I have a few questions.

*back story*
The previous owner told me that he was ready to sell it because he had replaced a bunch of parts at once and when his mechanic said he would need a new driveshaft he bailed. His mechanic replaced part of the cooling system for the tow package and replaced the gasket for the transfer case. Also has the part time light stuck on.
*end back story*

I went ahead and bought a new front axle driveshaft because I saw the 1A Auto video. When I drove the vehicle home I noticed a vibration when driving between 30-50 mph when I took my foot off the gas. It goes away when I press the brake or the gas. I don’t think it’s rotors. Above 72mph there’s a new shaking and deep hum. Previous owner told me this morning that the mechanic said it needed a new rear driveshaft. Would that be a good reason for the shaking? Should I keep the front driveshaft I bought as a backup or better to return it? Any recommendations on a rear shaft brand?

Also the AC fan only blows on speed 4. I think that’s just the switch not the fan motor. Right?

Thanks everyone, excited to be a KJ owner =)

Check for any play in or along the rear driveshaft.
If any of the universal joints are getting hot after a hwy run, replace the universal joints.
Front Prop shaft should be tight/no play in it, with no grease leaks from the sealing metal band area.
Fan speed only works on position 4 Need new resistor pack: https://www.jeepkj.com/threads/blower-motor-resistor-upgrade-for-kj.65152/

Re: The Rust- Proof that salt is bad news! :(
You must be registered for see images attach

Every year I try to use a drill w/ wire brush attachment, & even some sandpaper to keep it at bay!
Next Professional grade Rustolium spray paint gets used to keep my Jeep looking better.
Yes it's a bit of work & well worth it in the end.
Mouse been chewing on the electrical @ master cylinder? o_O
