Our Goodyear M/T R Kevlar tires will need replacing this spring/early summer.
As they sit, 15 months old and only 32000 Kilometers/19883.9 miles!

Excellent traction and high performance both on and off road, but the
tread life is non existent.
I'm thinking either Goodyear Dura Trac or Territory
or buy a set of Treadwright GUARD DOG M/T's...

I would have thought the Kevlar MTR's woud have lasted better?

My Son has the Dura-Tracs on the wrangler and says they are lasting good. I think he said he has 30,000 miles on them and still a lot of tread. (I have driven it on and off-road) Good tire.

I have heard the Treadwrites are good for recaps. Too bad you couldn't send them your MTR Kevlar casings (they should be still good) when the time comes and have then recap them with the Guard Dog tread....?

I was under that impression as well!
Awesome tires...
Just didn't think they would wear so fast.
In the 15 months we've had them, 35%-40% off road.
The rest on paved surfaces.

Would I buy them again?
Yes, despite the low mileage tread wear that we experienced .

Ya, I'll take a good look as those.

I just emailed them and asked if I could supply my own M/T R tires so that I can take full advantage of the Kevlar reinforced side walls.
Not to mention that I know the 100% history of the tires.

I'll wait and see when they reply to my email
.

Something is wrong here
I know for sure of 1 TJ that is DD'ed and 1 FJC also DD'ed
both running the MTR-K's TJ has over 20K and FJC about 25+
both still in good shape
TJ has after market bumpers ,winch, ect. so it is a heavy TJ
The FJC about the same and the FJ stock is heavy

I would contact good year
if you have any thing with the printed miles when installed and the current
you may get some credit to new tires
I know that when we had an issue with an older style MTR they gave us a "prorated" warranty ,tire started off w X deep tread the tread right now is Y deep so you get
$Z credit
got over $100 towards the new tire

Heads up on Goodyear Territory sale

Hey, just in case you were still looking at the Territory I got an e-mail alert they're going 25% off again in next week's Flyer (so price probably good until Thurs. Dec 30th)

Was drooling over Duratracs until I found these, like a budget CT Duratrac with the side sipes just a little less angled I guess ?

Have had okay warranty service at Canadian Tire but sometimes had to fight (got a free tire for my wife's vehicle under road hazard warranty after going to manager as staff were offering a discounted patch job). Best of luck with Goodyear - maybe they'll feel the spirit of Christmas and be nice about your tire issues!

not true
the MTR's on the KJ were "LT"
245/75 LRE (10 ply)

Like I said bring it to a G/Y store and tell them the situation
you will need proof of milage ,which we had
It may have also helped that my wife was 6 months pregnant at the time
and she was the one who brought it in

So what you're saying is, Ryan should act pregnant if he goes into a Goodyear store? :happy175:

Just kidding!

That was the knidness of the store manager and in no way was Goodyears stance or any other tire comnpany towards mileage and LT tires.
