Hey All-
Just wondering when everyone changed their ****** & T-case fluid for the first time? My KJ is a 2006 and just four years old last month with about 33K miles on it. No off-roading or hard driving really, just a 50/50 split of highway and local driving. I recall the maintenance manual calling for a fluid change around 30K, but does anyone really do it this soon? A good friend of mine who built cars for GM told me that it sounds way too soon to do at 30K, but I'm wondering what all you KJ owners out there would do.
Also, would this job be something a moderately familiar hobbyist mechanic like myself could do? I've done oil changes myself on it for years and have successfully changed the spark plugs and front and rear differential fluids myself in the past year or so.
Just want some clarification as I recently had the transmission in my 92 Camry go at only 92K, so I want to be sure to take good care of the Jeep if she requires it. Thanks for your input!
