Why do people hate on Libertys?

[I own a Libby]

Hello I am new to the forum! Last year I was given a 02 Liberty with 88,000 miles on it! My sister inlaw thought it had a bad head gasket. Got it home and found there was nothing wrong with it and she was using the head gaskets were just a front to get her husband to buy her a new Mustang.... I have friends who own Jeeps and they told me that owning a Libby is like driving a ****** on wheels.. Now this made me a little upset. To prove to them my Libby was no joke I challenged to go anywhere they could. Now my Jeep is a 3.7 with a 5 speed manual all stock. To make a long story short my Jeep and I got alot of props and a spot in the respectable Jeep area! I wanna thank the owners of Liberty's for keepin it real.

Welcome! I think people do not like liberties just because they do not want to face the fact that liberties are real jeeps and that liberties have a better ride than there wrangler and that the liberty has off road capability too.

There are people in this world that must push others down to try and lift themselves up. To make classes and put everything into a perceived hierarchy. To categorize and label everything into little boxes to fit their narrow views of what is good and bad. To follow "rules" of what is cool and what is not.

I call these people a$$hats.
I laugh at these people and get on with my day.

I picked it out ( no one else did )
I paid for it ( no one else did )
I put all of the work into it ( no one else did)
So why in the devil would I listen to someone who didn't have a thing to do with it :shrug:

I'm new here as well and have'nt gotten any hate yet but I live in MI so if it's not a diesel 1 ton it's not big enough. I think with a full frame and short wheel base it will do quite well in many off road situations. I'm happy with it so far and that's all that matters to me.

The kj does not have a full frame in the traditional sense it is a cross between a full frame and a unibody so they call it a uniframe.
