My tech just finished up with my lift and did the pinch welds also. I sent him the step by step way of cutting a flap and melting it back down but he just cut a chunk out of it. I have the chunks but I’m wondering is there a reason why other than money that folks don’t just replace the inner liner after cutting it. The heat fun and leather gloves cost about the same as one replacement liner. I’m sure I could work out melting it back into place but I’m also thinking I can just buy a replacement since it’s not gonna be quite as easy as just melting one flap down. Thanks for any input. Not sure about your KK, but on the KJ the liner has a bump over the pinch weld and would still flattened. Alsoon replacement liners are not always the same. I had one on mine after an accident. It was a lot thinner and melted away instead of melting together. Take your chunks, flatten them out and melt them in, you'll be happy you did.
Sadly the tech cut One of the chunks out in two pieces not sure I’d be able to melt that back even if I tried. I got new liners coming I guess if it comes down to it I can just cut and flatten the ones that are coming.

So after my alignment my tires are rubbing really bad on the front inner liner and on the flare where the liner connects to it at the corner. Sounds rough, I read on another post that you said you did some fabrication on your bumper and liner. Do you have pics or know any threads which discuss doing this? I haven’t taken measurements yet so I’m not sure if everything is right. The alignment shop said everything aligned well and looked good tho. I’ll get measurements and video of the rubbing tommro. Here’s a pic of where the tire is rubbing on the liner. You can see in the dust where it’s hitting.

I did trim the air dam off the front bumper, which did require some trimming of the liner, but I don't remember doing anything special, but my memory is garbage sometimes. I'll take a peek next week or so when I get back to town and see if it reminds me of something.
I was wondering what that thing was called. It appears the hard plastic part that the air dam connects to is the major issue for me as I’m getting solid contact with that at some points. Gonna grab a dremmel and get after it. Going to get an ath bumper soon so I don’t think it’s a big deal to remove what I’ll need to.
Yeah im gonna try to reinstall it today, atleas on my model the only exposed wires are the fog lights, but i just dont wanna risk it. We experience frequent flooding here and i can imagine the deeper waters would cause extra damage w/o the liner. I love this car, and i wanna keep her going forever. Dont wanna do any unnecessary risks. Thinking abt keeping her fully original except a lift kit tossed in, steel rims, and offroading tires. I love the look of my subie, love the feel of my subie, i dont wanna ruin her
