Wiring question KJ Liberty

Hi, I’m new to Jeep and electrical. I put on an aftermarket shift knob, I have a 3.7 sport automatic, and I’m having trouble with my overdrive switch. It has 2 black wires and my new external switch is just a regular Walmart on and off switch not a button. How am I wiring or going about figuring it out?

Download the Jeep KJ Service Manual here for your year KJ....2004 manuals not available but 2003 will be close enough if yours is a 2004 but wiring colors will be different.
