Ok so this one is a bit different than the others listed.
Long story short, I swapped the 02 engine with an 04, I swapped over the crank reluctor ring, jtec cam sprocket and every sensor there is. After hunting down gremins for months the car runs really well! I have approx 1100miles after the swap however yet another gremlin I can’t find.
It has always cranked a little extra and stared a little rougher after the engine is all warmed up but now it will give me a no crank no start situation, if you you let it sit for 20 mins it will fire rite up OR my latest find which is really strange, as soon as it acts up if I jump out and play musical relays changing out the starter relay with any other it will start BUT… after about another 20 mins of run time it will do it again, no crank no start even with the swapped relay?
I’ve pulled sanded and greased all the grounds I know of which were the two main lugs on each side of the block. The cheesy braided head ground straps to the fire wall and the PCM ground, am I missing any others? I just heard there maybe one on the frame?
As far as error codes, it will not throw a code every time, in fact I only got it to give me code twice upon no crank and it was a P1698 “no comm between bus and TCM” however I’m not having any shifting or transmission issues?
