just wondering when every one lifts their liberty, and goes to taller tires how much it throws out the speedometer.?
I put my winter tires on, stock size 225-75/16
and just for fun compared my speedometer to my gps.
the speedometer now reads 7 kph / 4.3496 mph faster then I'm actually going...
I did a search and couldn't find much info.
has any one replaced the crank seal ?
Is there any thing else I should look for/replace while I have the bottom pulley off?
I see a lot of people (on here) with 06 and newer liberty's that are lifted.
I understand the brake lines have to be relocated, but what about the wires for the abs? do they have to be extended? since there is one at each wheel.
I noticed when I was leaving work last night, when the traction control kicked in the head lights would dim.
the parking lot was quite slippery as we got a lot of wet snow.
at first I thought it was just my eyes after having driven twelve hours in the storm.(I'm a trucker)
so I made it...

just wondering if any fellow kj owners have bought anything from this company?
I'm thinking of buying an OME lift from them.
looking for feed back.

are staying on .
I checked for codes, but there are none coming up.
I've got a wheel bearing going bad (Ithink) I can hear it howling when I drive down the road.
but when I take a right turn it stops. I have an 06 liberty 4x4 not sure if there is a difference in years or not or 4x4 or 4x2 for that matter.
just changed the spark plugs about a month ago the mileage was great. then I have noticed this past week my mileage has really gone down hill.
like using a quarter tank of gas to go 85 kms . same roads ,same driver ,same driving habits . haven't noticed any leaks and it starts and runs...
I understand that when the computer senses wheel spin it cuts power to the engine.
but does it cut fuel to the engine or air ?
maybe it's just me, but it seems that if I use the traction control (ESP ) a lot the jeep is harder on gas .
any truth to this or is it my imagination? this is...
is this normal for the liberty ?
if I hit a dip in the road the front hits hard like there is no give in the suspension.
just wondering if maybe it's time to upgrade some suspension parts .
it has 83500 km on it not sure what that would be in miles.
forgive me this is my first write up on a how to and I was working outside (no garage yet) and it was a bit chilly . and I only did the passenger side.
I have provided a link to the pics with descriptions and will try to explain a little more here...
luckily I was only ten feet from my driveway.
I suddenly got a very strong smell of oil burning. I opened the hood and had a look, there was oil dripping on the exhaust and all over the side of the engine bay. it's the only place I can see that it would be leaking from judging by the mess it...
Ive read about people doing a clevis lift , but yesterday I was looking at my 06 and the clevis is all ready at the bottom of the strut. is this stock or did some one move it?
at least that's what I think I was looking at. LOL
this is my first jeep.
I could here a thumping sound in the rear of my 06.
so tonight I jacked it up to check it out, with the tire just off the ground I put a bar under the tire and lifted it up and down . there seems to be slack in the shock . I can move the tire at least an inch before there is any resistence in...

I will try to get some better pics later I was just playing around in front of my house.
would it be possible to wire up a set of off road light's to come on when I turn on my high beams?
I thought about wiring them up to a seperate switch, but I might forget to turn them off when I meet another vehicle.:pp:
