So I bought some rails off a Renegade from a guy here in Raleigh but he did not include all the bolts, nuts, etc... I have all the brackets.

What options do I have other than going to the dealership?
Does anyone have the bolt sizes?
If so, can I just go to a hardware store and pick something up?

What do you expect for $75 dollars...? Feedback is appreciated.

Yeah I can buy a grill guard from a guy near where I live, but like you , he doesn't have the mounting hardware and that guard is discontinued from Mopar and brackets are unavailable thru the dealer.

Well, I have all the brackets, I just need the bolts. I think I am missing 10 or so. I know the Admins get upset when we post Mopar instructions, but If I just copy the bolt pictures it may help.

Hopefully this helps ya. I recently removed my rails so I could take pics of them in an effort to trade them so I was able to get some easy pics of the bolts. I know hardware isn't measured by the socket that would be needed but I used a 1/2 socket to remove it. The bolt had the washer on it already and it measures 1 3/8" long when held to a tape properly. For what it's worth there was a number 98 imprinted on all the bolts. Here are pics of the bolts. Hope they help.

I got rock rails from an 03 Renne free from a buddy who took them off. I had all the brackets and bolts like the ones you have in your pic. Then I discovered I needed nutzerts. They must have stayed in his jeep when they took the bolts out. I tried one of my extra skid plate nutzerts and bolts and they fit. They were heavier graded bolts. So I figured they would be better anyway. You need 8 nutzerts and 8 bolts for each side.......16 total pieces per side or 32 all together for both sides. The ones I used were listed on the invoice as follows from the jeep dealer.

part #6503571 "screw".......(the bolt)

part #6505294AA "rivet" (the nutzert)

You will also need the installation tool for the nutzert. It is just a double bolt thingy. Since you will need 16 of each (32 pieces total) they will not be cheap. I think I paid almost $100 for all of them. I am not sure about the installation tool (bolt) but I think it was part # 65066448A and about $4 or so but I can't find the receipt. Washers come with the bolts.

Anyway, the skidplate nutzerts and bolts fit my 05 KJ so I guess that is an option. All year KJ's are probably the same with the nutzert holes already in the frame as mine were.

Actually, the guy who sold me the rails gave me about 10 of these but not enough to complete the install. I went to True Value today and picked up some metric comparables and some washers. I think the issue I'm going to have is with the rivet nuts (terminology? the middle picture above). They are inserted into the holes and then grip from the inside once the bolt is tightened.

Any suggestions on that? I'm not sure if the bolt itself will hold the rails in...

At the risk of sounding completely ignorant and clueless, why wouldn't a regular lock nut not work with the bolts? I didn't extensively study the underside of my vehicle so I don't know why they wouldn't work.

Aaaahhhhh....so there is nothing there to begin with....I see now. Nobody ever makes anything easy, or universal.
