The radiator in my 07 blew, and, when I went to replace it, every one I found came sealed without a cap, and the old one had a cap. I replaced it with the sealed radiator (even the dealer only showed the sealed one), and, now, almost every day, it will bubble and act like it's overheating at least a couple times a day, and I have to add coolant every couple of days, so, what am I missing here? It's been doing this for almost 3 weeks straight. Do I have to retrofit the overflow bottle to the style with the cap as well, or is there something else I'm missing?

Did you bleed the system after replacing the radiator? There's a bleed screw on the upper coolant hose housing. Just google the process of bleeding the system. Hope that helps.

I had an 07 KJ with the radiator cap on the radiator. Reservoir just caught overflow past cap and let fluid get sucked back in through cap when cooled Bought a 03 KJ and it has the radiator with out the cap. The reservoir has the pressure cap on it. In this setup, the reservoir is pressurized. Different than capped radiator. You may want to change your reservoir to the style with the pressure cap on it
