Hello all from Vancouver Island B.C. Canada!

Looking for a KJ or a KK for my daughters first vehicle, in her budget we are looking for something a bit rough I must admit.

Just been out looking at a few Liberty Jeeps and found similar faults in the three I looked at.
Looked at a 2003 2007 and 2009 and all three had something wrong with the heater controls...
Is this a common fault?

Thanx

The most important thing on a KJ is rust, unless you like welding check the sills, expecially the later ones with the plastic trim that hides the rot!

Ya I was looking at a 2003 KJ and it had a really nice hole in the rocker area under the passenger side rear door. I suspect the drainage aspect of this body area is a common issue.

Not a huge issue to weld up but what you see on the outside is 10% of what's inside when you cut it open, so keep that in mind when talking prices.
This was Jeeps first non chassis car so the whole thing is structural.

I bought a 2003 liberty this summer and found a common problem seems to be the heater blower motor resistor. The symptom is that the blower only works on the highest speed, not any of the lower ones. Not sure if that was your experience or something else. Was able to get the part from Amazon for $25 . It's located behind the glove compartment and is not a hard fix if that was the issue you saw.
