Hello all,

I have a 2010 Jeep Liberty and dont really drive it much, just under 90K but noticed water dripping from the muffler this morning. I will say , I have not started it in 2 days and today is 8 degrees (-4 wind chill) so I went outside and started it and left it running for an hour and see a puddle of water and not sure if this is maybe normal due to the cold temps and limited use in last 48 hours.

attached two pics and from what I can tell the although the muffler is original with the vehicle, I dont see any potential holes. any thoughts or suggestions?

You don’t see any holes? That poor thing is mostly holes… you got your monies worth. ;) Time to put it out of it’s misery.

A little water is normal but it should be coming from the tailpipe not the muffler.

If you look closer, there is a small factory drilled hole above the lip on the bottom of your muffler. Water is a normal product of combustion, so its there to allow it and any trapped condensation to drain out.

agree. condensation and time for a new cheap muffler if money and time allows. agree to monitor radiator fluid level for a few drives. open cap when cold. is exhause whitish once warm, or a cloud of white when starting and cold? let us rule out fluid leak and rule in condensation.
