it is hard to get down, and you must push hard to latch it. i have adjusted the latch all the way forward, even extended the hole, and I still have to be really firm twice to get it to latch. Then if I hit a bump, it will want to pop open. is there any way to get the stricker out a little more?

Sounds like a worn latch or mayby a dodgy microswitch in the rear handle, mine would spring open randomly in the rain when it started to fail, real treat when your driving along. I unplugged the door handle as a temporary fix.
