    Coolant brand?

Buying the 50/50 is quite a bit more expensive. You can get a gallon of distilled water for <$1. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Frozen parking brake actuator -- removal?

quick update on this -- my parking brake hasn't been working again so I pulled it apart this weekend and guess what -- damn actuators are rusted solid again. In addition, my shoes were unevenly shot probably due to these frozen actuators and a time or two when I accidentally drove a little bit...

    Replacing AC compressor clutch?

A/c clutch is a common failure point. Mine went and I monkeyed with adjusting the clutch/banging on it which helped moderately for a short period of time. Ended up just replacing the compressor, all a/c lines, refrigerant, etc. for $800. Money well spent Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

I just got a Recall Notice

All I know is that I held out on getting the hitch recall done and Jeep ended up sending me a $100 gift card for actually going to the dealer and getting it inspected. Unless critical, im always going to wait :) Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Not sure where this oil leak is coming from

I think I have the same problem - saw it a month ago when changing oil. Seems to be more of a weep than leak, but no good regardless. Definitely check the valve cover (passenger side proximal to the coolant overflow tank. Here are some pics from mine - perhaps helpful. Sent from my iPhone...

Looking for metal impeller water pump?

Sorry, no, but not worth arguing over. VW auto group has divisions for Audi, Bugatti, Porsche, Bentley, Lamborghini, and of course, VW. BMW is its own company and owns Rolls Royce and Mini. Besides both having headquarters in Germany, these are very different companies with no large ownership...

Looking for metal impeller water pump?

Umm, no they aren't (BMW completely unrelated) but anyways, I don't think the longevity of the water pump (100k+ miles) in Jeeps is bad at all. It is a cheap and easy fix. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Looking for metal impeller water pump?

Replaced my original one with a Cardone one at 150k miles about 6 mos ago. Working great and an easy swap if I need to replace in the future. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

A/C and Cruise Control Vacuum Hoses

I had the same exact problem (but I am the reason for it - broke the brittle plastic line during valve cover gasket replacement). Look for the actuator which is behind the airbox. There is a plastic vacuum line there. If broken, some wiper hosing or appropriate vacuum hosing should work Sent...

    Oil leak

Can you actually see the leak? I'd wash the exhaust pipe and general area off with strong degreaser and water and give it a couple more days. It took a little time for my cat to stop smoking after changing the valve cover gasket. Chalk it up residual oil... Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    Electrical help -- overhead console

LOL - yeah, I really have no need for a radar detector since I usually go no more than 5 over the limit in the Liberty. In addition, driving cross country with a fully loaded up jeep probably means going even the speed limit in the highways will be challenging. Oh well...been looking for a...

    Electrical help -- overhead console

Excellent! I got my multimeter working and can also confirm that the overhead/map lights are hot all the time. So thanks for the confirmation. I wasn't able to find a switched source but will try what you mentioned tomorrow. I am trying to power a radar detector in advance of a cross country...

    Electrical help -- overhead console

Hi guys: I am trying to direct wire an accessory so that it turns on when the car is on (or at least acc is on) and I am trying to wire it directly to the wiring in the overhead console. There are basically these options --wiring it to the homelink panel, wiring to the overhead lights, and...

looking for a good cargo rack

I use the Rola rack and homemade cross bars. There are a bunch if threads here in both. This is an inexpensive solution but there are heartier options out there if you want.

    Yet another leak question...

Power steering fluid would be my guess. Look at the PS lines to see if they are weaping/leaking. And make sure your fluid level is okay if so.
