Water leak- passenger side- quick fix

khaki's leak is from the passenger side top of the windshield. insufficient urethane, 12 years of FL sun, or some other factor has contributed to water weeping behind the windshield, and running down the a-pillar cover, to the floor.

What did you do to your jeep today?

water leak located. upper passenger corner of the windshield leaks on to the headliner. windshield is OE, so no idea if it's been changed (probably not) so i'm suspecting FL sun degradation of possibly insufficient glue in that corner, that finally gave up.

bolt size interior windshield grab handles

Resurrecting this dead thread. Couldn't get a 7/32 but a 5.5 mm works perfectly. And of course, you need a deep socket. (stupid speak & spell on my phone... corrected.)

What did you do to your jeep today?

Yea but you're a "subject" not a "citizen." Y'all need to get some 1776 in your blood. Or even dare I say some French, but only some 1792. And make sure you focus it in the right direction. Keep your powder dry, and your rifle by your side.

How long did your 42RLE automatic transmission last before it blew up?

This. The question being asked is a good starting point, but the initial results can be horribly misleading. EX: *many* people still seem to believe that, 80s and 90s chrysler FWD cars were horribly unreliable, especially their transmissions. there were many failures in the ~100k range, or...

What did you do to your jeep today?

not really. oddly enough, despite NJ being a horrifically anti-gun state (seriously, "you own firearms at your peril" so says a NJ appeals court judge.) gun safes are tax free. you can order many different ones through TS and go pick them up.

What did you do to your jeep today?

been studying videos on how to replace the solenoid pack on the 42RLE, with the trans still in the jeep. you know, it doesn't look like THAT bad a job. and the part isn't terribly expensive (< $100.) i'm betting I give it a shot in the not too distant future.

What did you do to your jeep today?

06 khaki: driver's seat belt latch, the red button part sits down inside it instead of popping up, and it's troublesome to get it to actually latch. I sprayed some WD40 in it and worked it like 50 times, and it seemed better, but now it's getting worse. any thoughts on how to fix it?

What did you do to your jeep today?

interesting. I've got lifetime alignment from firestone on all my rigs. occasionally I have to take it back, but as of late they've been good.

What did you do to your jeep today?

while I successfully did it, I do NOT recommend attempting to swap the hatch glass by yourself. get a friend. two would be even better.

What did you do to your jeep today?

cats from the 65th are now in the khaki jeep. scan tool says all is working well. only the EVAP monitor hasn't set. trans continues to try and pop a P0740 for the trans and P0700 for the ECU, but I can clear the former which deletes the latter without screwing with the readiness monitors. if...

What did you do to your jeep today?

I bet that's why sometimes the scan tool would show the downstream working right, then others show it as if the cat was totally dead. I bet parts are moving around and sometimes allow gases to pass completely by the matrix.

    Engine needed ....

I think it's perfectly normal to go out and spend under $1,000 on an entire car to use it for nothing more than parts for your current cars.

What did you do to your jeep today?

got back on the khaki jeep today. pulled the cats out of it. oh yea, the passenger one is bad. it shouldn't rattle and bits of converter shouldn't fall out of it. gonna go steal the newish ones out of the 65th anniversary. definitely decided to make it a parts jeep.

    Engine needed ....

picked up the 06 silver 65th anniversary for $800, with a ton of new parts on it, because it had a dead cylinder. turned out to be a kicked rocker. the 06 khaki was $700, and it needed plugs to get working right. might have a bad trans (no converter lockup), and may needs cats, which i'll...
