This must be 2004 16V CRD....unfortunately we do not have Service Manuals for the 2004 KJs but the 2003 manuals should be close enough other than the color of the wiring! Download the Service Manuals here.....there is a good section explaining how to check the fuel system for leaks...- Billwill

2003 kj liberty sport 2.5 Ltd turbo diesel 5 speed bus problem

New power steering pump - white (Teflon?) gasket?

Sentry Key shows up and jeep will not turn over
You must have bumped loose a connector or damaged a wire. No point in re-entering the SKEES number. Does the ASD Relay energize? 2005 Jeep Liberty wont turn over, checked ignition switch and not broken.
A bit of an old post but just saw this now. Jumping the Starter Relay will turn over the motor but the SKEES Anti-theft will not let it start if a SKEES problem is present. On the CRD the ASD relay needs to be energized by the ECM if it is happy with the Chipped key. Same on the 3.7...- Billwill

Be careful when replacing the fuel filter. It is possible that when you remove the old filter a rubber seal gets left behind. You then put on a new filter that has a rubber seal fitted so now you have two seals on top of each other which causes air to get sucked in!:oops:- Billwill

timing belt won't go over tensioner

When last did you replace the fuel filter? I went for a fair amount of time with a new fuel filter sitting under my seat waiting to be fitted. On the open road the engine would just cut out. I wait a few seconds and it would start up again. Eventually I replaced the fuel filter...pumped all...- Billwill

Yeah it will be difficult to trace the wiring much further...they dissapear into the PCM and some lines from the PCM then dissappear on CAN C BUS lines to "Computer Data Lines System" somewhere....a White/Light Blue line and a White/Black line! PLEASE HELP Problem with my Headlights staying on
What year/model is your Jeep?....we can look through the Wiring Diagrams if it is a 2002,3,5,6 KJ;) As stated above the Multi Function Switch is known to fail fairly often. This is the switch that has your Turn signal stalk, Low beam/High beam stalk etc. on it.- Billwill

New bad clutch?
It is possible to install the clutch disc the wrong way around on some vehicles......when I was young and stupid....I am no longer young...I did this on my 1984 BMW E323 6 cylinder. o_O Vehicle did not move an inch so it was a case of start all over again! New bad clutch?
The KJ clutch flywheel is not flat...it has a slight curve in it! The Service manual tells you how you can remove slight scratches on it with Emory cloth but the flywheel must never be machined flat! The clutch friction plate must be the correct one to match the flywheel. I bet some previous...- Billwill

Welcome, what part of the country are you in? I am in White River Mpumalanga, have a 2002 CRD Manual..coming up to 20 years mid May. Dealer service has really gone downhill so try do whatever you can by yourself or use other Vendors for brake work, clutch work etc. Download the 2005 Jeep KJ...- Billwill

2002 Jeep Cherokee/Liberty Radio Head Unit Problem
There is always a possibility that a previous owner has messed around with the original wiring for some reason or other. I have never seen a Relay behind the steering wheel that could be clicking...you need to check if that looks original or added on. My Export Diesel is coming up for 20 years...- Billwill

2002 Jeep Cherokee/Liberty Radio Head Unit Problem
I have the same Radio/Tape deck in my Export 2002 CRD but do not have the rear CD player/shuttle. If you lose power to the Radio you have to enter a 4 digit code to get it to work again...hopefully you have that code written down somewhere in your manuals!:oops: I believe there may be a fuse...- Billwill

Check the fuses and wiring using the 2002 Jeep KJ Service Manuals here: www.colorado4wheel.com/manuals/Jeep/KJ/ Section 8W has the Wiring diagrams. Get the fuses in the correct positions and the correct values and see what happens! ;)- Billwill

Another question about a weird rattle in my 2003 Jeep Liberty
Only the CRD and the 2.4 L 4 cylinder have an alternator with a one-way clutch fitted! ;) This is to compensate for the 4 cylinder roughness which the V6 does not have.
