What did you do to your jeep today?

Today I put the Onki Stainless steel bullbar back on Giddyup. While obviously not as sturdy, or nice, as an ARB bumper, I have no need for a winch and there are plenty of deer and other larger critters around here, and this thing is sturdy enough and tall enough and mounted well enough to keep...

    Upper control arm alternatives

That'd be a decent start, though of course QUALITY of the tubing, in addition to the thickness, is crucial as well as a host of other important factors mentioned earlier in the thread. That said, given the many contributions and support to the Jeep community made by JBA, there is no real...

What did you do to your jeep today?

This-- UV degradation from exposure to sunlight is what destroys ANY plastic, depending on how much UV protectant that the manufacturer added to the plastic during the manufacturing process. The chemicals in UV shields are expensive, so generally the cheaper that the headlights are, the less...

What did you do to your jeep today?

Got the TYC headlights on Rockauto for about $30 each, though you can find other brand headlights on RA for barely $20 each o_O From what I could "learn" by "researching" online, the TYC brand is about as "good" as you can get for aftermarket headlights and housings ... NOT that the CAPA...

What did you do to your jeep today?

Giddyup rides again!!! Finished installing the headlight panel with new headlights and fog lights, put the bumper back on, added just over 2.5 gallons of 50% HOAT, jacked up the front end and let her idle and burp for about 20 minutes and then finally topped off the rezzy to the full...

    Phone Mount Recommendation?

I like to use the ones from ProClipUSA in all my vehicles. You buy the vehicle specific mount separately from the phone/device holder and then you can simply change holders if you change phone but keep the same vehicle. The mounts are extremely well made and easy to install and IMO also look...

    My 11 kk wont start

I always suggest starting with the basics by checking the battery voltage and charge level (preferably with BOTH a load tester and battery hygrometer if possible) and ALSO all of the battery connections for cleanliness and tightness. Of course you should also inspect ALL ground connections from...

2004 liberty Rebuilding the front end on my moms jeep and found a lot of fluid in tie rod boots

GREAT find....What a solid mechanic and ALSO was actually more interesting to watch then the crappy TV program that I had planned on watching tonight. :D The ONLY point I got concerned is when he was using WD40 and I thought to myself, what kind of expert mechanic still uses WD40 instaed of...

    Battery light/electrical problem

Id start with the basics... Closely inspect and check tightness of each battery terminal... If necessary, remove and clean the terminals and connectors and then carefully reattach and tighten them. If you are removing the terminals, be sure to disconnect the ground first and later reconnect...

What did you do to your jeep today?

Today I found the answer to the question that I posted here yesterday. The 3 wire electric cooling fan on my 2005 CRD has two relays in the PDC that control fan speed. One relay is labeled "Low" and the second one is labeled "High" While hot wiring EITHER of the fan relays alone made the fan...

How to bleed fuel filter ?

Has anyone else ever pulled the fuel pump fuse and then started and run the CRD until she dies in order to empty the filter canister before removing it??

What did you do to your jeep today?

ALSO added a pair of Hella FF50 fog lights with yellow Xenon bulbs into the bumper skirt to supplement the crappy OEM fog lights. Made some HD extruded aluminum plates a little larger then the brackets that came with FF50s in order to reinforce the bumper at the mounting point. Then carefully...

What did you do to your jeep today?

Remember a few days ago when I said that when I hot wired the two electric cooling fan relays that it didn't seem like there was much difference in fan speeds between the hi and low relays? Well, today I did it again, but also used a handheld tachometer and a piece of shiny sticky on the fan...

    Power steering whine?

If that line is actually leaking then even a small amount of air in the system might be causing the whine that you are hearing. You might try seeing if there is enough slack in the line length to cut off the end behind the ear clamp and then reconnect the fresh end to the cooler and secure it...
