- so - ive never seen this up close but. The other guide. Is it all plastic or is there a metal sleeve thru the bolt hole? If all plastic - a sharp chisel to crack that guide away, then grab the bolt head however you choose.
Since it is already buggered up, try to actually tighten it a bit first to see if that releases some of the tension. I was going to suggest an impact driver (like right angle) set up and see if the short rapid blasts move it.
It has been a while, but i think they are captive nuts up into the frame. I use an impact gun (air) and go short blasts. I was always a bar and 6 point socket and long handle breaker setup, but with the jeep darn near on the ground, no room. Impact brings mine out. I pre-soak with some stuff...
Had to replace the dreaded actuator pin on the 04. It died at work in the lot, and I thought of the starter relay trick. No luck because the switch was not turning far enough. So off to advance auto for a dorman pin kit. (Price match amazon saves 20 bucks). What a beast to get lined up in...
Anything in that range of sizes will work.
That is due to the tensioner adjusting as a belt inevitably stretches over time.
The first link shows the AC clutch removed from the compressor. It would be cheap and relatively easy to do by removing the center bolt and pulling the compressor...
depending on your jeep - you may have a fan clutch - directly driven by the water pump and serpentine belt?
show us a pic of what fan you are describing.

just to add a few things to KJOwner’s ideas:
1- it may well be the water pump. Anything this old, with the original pump, could indeed be the impeller eaten away thru corrosion of the coolant was not changed regularly. These things get a bit acidic / basic depending on the type of coolant...
I’m going to do mine on the 06 shortly.
Ever since we popped a rocker and lifter, the front of the engine has been sounding like a hay baler. I am thinking maybe a bad guide or tensioner. The chain was kind of slack on the right side head when I was changing all the lifters. it runs well...
