    Your codes are probably related to fuel system too rich, not oil. oxygen sensors may need replacement. Pressure test the cooling system to 16 psi and see if it holds pressure for 10 minutes. Only use Hoat coolant or zerex G05. Your water pump could also be an issue, but lets see if it holds...

    I can imagine in Greece how hot the kj can get. It it great that you can read from the Pml's temp sensor. Allowing it to cool down is a good idea. Somewhere in the manual they recommend placing jeep in neutral, brakes on, and lifting the hood allowing the jeep to cool down.

    I'm pretty sure you can go with a 13" rim with correct lug pattern. Tire wise, the tire shop should be able to recommend the correct load rating based upon trailer weight.

    Welcome to the forums. The KJ appears to be in good condition overall, how many miles are on Jeep now? Did you purchase it from a dealer or private sale? Good choice for your son as they are a safe vehicle. Check to see if there are any outstanding recalls for ball joints or hitch etc...

    Try to obtain the specific OBD2 trouble code numbers. Wallmart should have Chevron Techron Concentrate available. Add a bottle or two, and that will clean injectors and valves at hwy speeds.

    There are some tough decisions ahead, a 1300 mile haul home is long ways. If you feel the Jeep is worth restoring, Jasper engines would be the way to go. You would have a full warranty. Many members here have taken this direction.

    It is best to use the correct spark plug terminology. The correct spark plugs for the KJ is NGK ZFR6F-11G set electrode gap at .040 inch. The coil pack should also contain the rubber o ring seals as well.

    Heated Side Mirrors Upgrade

    KJ does have wiring present for heated mirrors. Heated mirrors are activated by the rear defrost button. Try & find the OEM mirrors with the heated symbol. Aftermarket mirrors are available, but are not the same quality as OEM. Expand image below to see the Oem connector.

    There is always some coolant left over in the engine block. Coolant capacity (3.7 engine) is 14 quarts or 13.2 liters.

    I'd sure like to identify where exactly it is leaking from by adding de-mineralized water. Is there a crack in the rad tank side or? This may be a good time to also replace hoses & new moper thermostat. Only use Mopar Hoat coolant or Zerex G05. Does your 04 KJ only have the electric fan, or...
