My KJ came on KO2's (so represent 1/2 its value), they were fine but can't say they were any different to the Grabbers I've been used to (although comparing a KJ on BFG's & an XJ on Grabbers is a thankless - & pretty pointless - exercise). Recommendation for roof mounted lights for a Jeep Liberty?
That particular Renegade* is, at best a sub-model, hood & grille aside, really a trim package. I thought those roof lights were hard to find, as there weren't that many pre-facelift Renegades & so many people wanted them for their Libbies. Not plug & play - 'cos there's nothing to plug them...- Deb'nKJ

& there was me thinking rear shox are one of the very few easy jobs on a KJ. XJ top mounts are completer different, as are the (well chronicled) problems. This problem is more akin to leaf spring front mounting bolts where Loctite is more of problem than rust - &, if you're working at ground...- Deb'nKJ

First (for me) Oil Change ....
It was of those strap wrenches I destroyed trying to remove my filter, & it was a new one at that, the 1/2" drive opened up like a rose in bloom. With hindsight, I suppose I should've used a socket on the external hex (but I've been using one of these for so long, the strap's been repaired...- Deb'nKJ

Help with Sunroof drains.

I assumed you'd gathered them for different purposes but, even so, you've obviously found more uses for them than I have. If a filter is that tight, my concern is that having damaged it to the extent it leaks, I still can't get it off (so no hammering screwdrivers through them for me).- Deb'nKJ

No idea where/when/how I got mine, but I'd have thought any autoparts or, probably, hardware store, HF, TSC & no the only thing special about a KJ filter (at least the 3.7 flavour) is poor access. I suppose it's just possible that there are different sizes, but not that I'm aware of.- Deb'nKJ

"a selection of chain wrenches" seems a little excessive. I do have one but, while I had no doubt it'd done the job, I thought it'd damage the filter (& I now know just how much). Also it has the same disadvantage as a strap wrench, it's difficult to fit on this particular filter. My 3-legged...- Deb'nKJ

I'd imagine you change the batteries in that fob same way as any other. Shipping from the States depends on the seller: very occasionally it's reasonable - but I have seen £100 quoted for a lightbulb! Then again, internal package mail seems outrageous to me. Never been convinced about those filter caps, if only because not all filters for the same application are the same - & it restricts you to buying a new filter that fits the cap, for the next time. Perhaps the answer is a K&N one you can use a standard socket on - but that goes against the grain...- Deb'nKJ

Thanks - I voted, I mean it would be churlish not to. As KJowner says it's difficult for us given differences in markets/prices/availability (& I'm not sure about the RR/KJ comparison) but when I bought mine (3.7, auto, 120,000 miles, no known faults), 2 years ago, for £1200, there were plenty...- Deb'nKJ

I'm not voting because I can't believe $2000 is a good price for a non-runner or, at least, something with a major fault. Don't know about a transmission, but I once replace a clutch by the side of the road where it failed. Oh, & now, I'd wait 'til at least late Spring before taking...- Deb'nKJ

I use 10/30 because it's more readily available & it never really get cold enough to need anything thinner. But that filter!
