The Detroit one I have was dirt cheap with no core charge.
They offer a lifetime warranty for the core.

I did. I have the Detroit in my Jeep. It's not leaking anymore. I also replaced the hoses and o rings. Unfortunately I STILL get bad whining in the cold. Must be the pump.
Not sure if it's normal, but my steering wheel has a bit of play in it. I'd say maybe an eighth of an inch back and forth...
Looks like the Jeep is sticking around. The list is starting again...
1) Trans replacement
2) Front Calipers and brakes
3) Driveshaft U joints
4) PCV piping (cracked)
5) Fluids - I don't keep tabs on mileage anymore. I don't drive much.
6) Plugs
7) Maybe injectors
Sounds like a similar issue I'm having. And I'm also assuming it's the Torque Converter. Torque Converter can't seem to unlock when it needs to sometimes. Usually around 55-60 for me which is no good.
Lengthen the amount of time you get by with the issue by turning overdrive off under 50.
Bump. Anyone running these? Getting some clunking in the front and wondering if I should go extended for now. Not doing disconnects for fear of CV issues.
Need to replace my front calipers. Problem is $150 a caliper is pretty expensive for Mopar. Anyone ever use $50 or less refurbs from elsewhere with success? I don't drive much anymore and I'm not really sure how much longer I'll have this Jeep (171k miles and rusting away...)
Thanks all.
I've had both as well. They really all that elusive? Started with smoked, cracked it up, got another set of smoked, cracked it again. Now I have clears. I might have ONE smoked signal sitting around lol.
So for the high pressure hose, we drilled a hole in the plastic to make life easier. Probably accessible with a u-joint on the socket but this was faster. No bumper removal necessary. Fairly quick change. Just remove E-Fan, grille, and headlight.
Can someone please tell me the difference in the parts 052088714ai and 068146830aa?

Fairly certain it's just skids, headlight housings, and decals. Towing caps and all those specs are all the same (depending, obviously, on whether the towing kit is installed).
Yeah they performed pretty decently at the end. I actually think I could have gotten more out of them but one punctured. So I figured it was time to upgrade (I had the lift and wheels already). They were still pretty tough to break free even in the rain. I off roaded fairly often too. Obviously...
