You don't have a vehicle year listed, but it sounds (after alot of rereading) like you have an aftermarket alarm installed that is either way too damn sensitive or installed incorrectly and just goes off constantly. If so, the trick here is to extricate it without dicking up your electrical...
Decided to do this when I had to do the core in my Ram. Did the blend door while in there since that was a known problem. That was 4yrs ago. Of course since I didn't touch it, this year the recirc door broke lol. At least I didn't have to rip the dash off to do that.
What about the other one (you do know there's two, right...)? Sean (Hemifever tuning) figured out how to do this years ago...I had my ex-wife's Jeep custom tuned back in like 2011-12. something like that.
The Grand Cherokee EVIC's may work somewhat but aren't COMPLETELY compatible/integrate able to a KJ. If you want full proper functionality you need one for your year KJ. Had quite a bit of trial and error (they're cheap in junkyards lol) before getting it right. Oh and check your part...
HAD lol, but the multifunction switch is the same from 02-07 (can't vouch for after that). Only light switch that was separate was the overhead offroad lights on the Renegades.
The turn signal stalk (with the headlight switch) has the foglight switch built into it, you pull it out to energize them. It's not a great pic, but you can see the arrow with the foglight icon.
Unfortunately no aftermarket help to reprogram it. Factory programming is geared towards getting into top gear as quickly as possible for fuel economy. I used to leave OD off in the Jeep (used do it in my truck but I switched from 3.92's to 4.56's so it's no as much an issue anymore) around...
Haven't pulled an RLE, but LOTS of experience with the RFE. If the RLE is anything like the RFE, you can remove the 2wd tail housing from it and swap on the transfer case adapter.
It's not related to the key itself but the ignition switch. If the switch is on (vehicle running) it doesn't know any better if the key is in there. It's not going to do any damage and you obviously don't have a SKIM key. Fix here is a new switch keyed to your key.
