Parts for CRD in other Jeeps etc

I can’t comment on any of the swap details, but as a relatively new Jeep Liberty owner with a CRD, I was surprised at the availability of parts. I really haven’t bought any CRD specific parts but I was able to buy all of the Moog front end parts from Advanced Auto Parts without an issue. I think...

    New to Jeeps

It’s been a while. Jeep is running well. Hoping to take it to an event next weekend and see how well it can handle some trails. I really need to get a set of axles and get this thing referred. There is an 04 for sale locally that I am considering for the axle swap. It also has a 5 speed manual...

    New to Jeeps

Another update. Jeep has been running great. Keep putting more and more miles on it with absolutely no issues. I’ve put around 2,000 miles on it since adding the lift. I did have to put u joints in the drive shaft as they were completely shot. Thinking the CV axle will be the next project...

    New to Jeeps

So… things have been going great. Only thing I have noticed is that if it sits for an extended period of time (sat for a week this last time) it cranks a while before starting. Being around diesels in’s lean towards it loosing prime. But that doesn’t seem to be the case. As when I check the...

    New to Jeeps

Been driving my Jeep for some time now. Probably have between 500 and 750 miles on it since lift was completed. I must say, I am impressed with the ride of this thing. It rides smoother than any other lifted vehicle I have ever been in. The shop nailed the alignment. It tracks true and...

    New to Jeeps

It’s really to bad that these motors didn’t get more attention. They seem like they could have the potential to make a bit of power. Dual overhead cams, direct common rail injection, inline 4 cylinder. I mean from the factory they made about the sand power my first Cummins did (180hp, 360...

    New to Jeeps

Thanks for the info. I am pretty familiar with diesel motors and most of the upgrades/ maintenance upgrades to make these things more reliable. The fuel pump and timing belt are certainly high on the list of things to do. Both only make sense. I don't see starting this in extreme cold temps...

    New to Jeeps

Finally got the title issues worked out and got the Jeep register yesterday. I think the next thing that I need to do is regear this. Tom, I know you have suggested 4.10 ratio. But what is driving that ratio? Would something lower be better? 4.33? or am I going to be limited by this front end...

    Coolant overflow without overheating

So it sounds like you recently did some work with the coolant system, replacing major components. FWIW, I have had many engines leak coolant out the over flow until they settle down and find their happy place. I can fill to the full line and when hot leak until again finding their happy place...

    Wet Floors

Hey guys. I am having trouble with wet carpets in front passenger and drivers side compartments. This Jeep does not have a sunroof. Are there any other stress to look? I guess it could be the windshield gasket. Doesn’t seem to be effecting the headliner or the rear passenger compartment...

    New to Jeeps

Tom, what is the difference in the bumper brackets? I found a used bumper for a 2004. With a little fab work can I make it work?

    Fuel Pumps

I know Sasquatch Diesel has an intake fuel pump for these Jeeps that uses a Cummins fuel pump. Anyone ever use an external pump and filter set up for these Jeeps? Something like a FASS or an Air Dog? Thinking could simply wire it up to run off the key or a manual toggle switch. Make for ease of...

What did you do to your jeep today?

Dang. Got rid of FB a while ago. Maybe I’ll have my GF look. What the difference between the 02-04 and 05-07? Can I do some fab work to make it fit?

What did you do to your jeep today?

Right. Kinda been surfing Craigslist for a bumper. But doubtful I’ll ever find one local to me. As I don’t think I’ve even seen a lifter Liberty around here.

What did you do to your jeep today?

Agree on both points but lots of $$$ for an ARB.

What did you do to your jeep today?

Yes pinch welds are flattened. Just have to address the front bumper. Other than that tires clear just fine. I do want a bumper with a winch mount in the future. Not sure if I’m into paying $1,500 for ARBs bumper though. Thoughts crossed my mind to build one (have tools and resources to do so)...

What did you do to your jeep today?

I dig removing the front fender plastics. I would really like to take mine off and build a flat fender like you can buy off the shelf for the JKs.
