    suspension to hard

Who did the lift install? Were the control arm, clevis mount and swaybar bushings loosened and retightened when the suspension was at its loaded height? If not, your bushings will cause binding and roughness.

What did you do to your jeep today?

Took the KJ out Saturday to put the suspension to a mild test. Did some rocks, mud, water and washouts. The DTT in front and back kept traction climbing a rock covered trail. Adventures took us to Denver to pick up a camera lens, and led to a rock strike on the windshield. Woke up this am...

265-75r16 no lift and VERY lil rub!

If I ever end up moving to that much rubber, I'll just spring for the jba steel diff. I need to stroll out to teller county and check for rubbing in back. I still have rubbing issues on the front bumper. Joys of beefy shoulder lugs

265-75r16 no lift and VERY lil rub!

You don't offroad, but you have logging trails with ruts that make your diff drag. You need clearance underneath, but have almost no clearance on top of the tires for articulation on those logging roads. Even just putting around town, you're putting a lot of stress on the drivetrain...

    03 Liberty Freedom Edition Overheating

Stop and go driving, or highway driving at the time of overheating? Have you visually seen the radiator fan(electric one) turn on at the time of overheating? Electric fan is the primary fan, those with the mechanical fan, that is an auxiliary fan to the electric.

    First highway trip after regear

Yeah, it's positive alright, lol. Getting used to it for the most part, just once in a while it reminds me. Quick inputs seem to be what makes it worse. Of course that lousy drive on I-25 makes it hard to figure out if anything is out of wack or not. I swear Rampart Rd was smoother than that...

    First highway trip after regear

6speeds due to the close ratio gearing they use, get by with 3.55 gears. Works great at lower elevations, but up here, you do feel it! Had a chance to run it in snow yesterday, and it drives different but no real issues with it fishtailing. The front unit is what is going to take a while...

    First highway trip after regear

Well I finally took the jeep on the highway to work this am, in the snow storm after regearing Saturday. Went from stock 3.55 gears to 3.73's with DTT front and rear. Took surface streets home Saturday after I was done and took it easy all weekend on it. Took the highway to work this am, with...

How Do I Fix a Misfire?

How many warning lights are staying on when you drive? Just the engine light, or does the ABS light stay on as well? If the ABS light isn't on while you drive, then the ABS code(s) may not be current issues and may not be an issue at all. Torque converter code could indicate a problem looming...

KJ -What is on Your Spring Check List?

Going to have to do an intermediate shaft in the future. Did a once over of my suspension today already and replaced all the seals on the drivetrain. Belt, and tires and a/f are all fairly new as well. Just an FYI, cracks in the drivebelt are not the only determination for service life. You...

What did you do to your jeep today?

Got the new Motive gears in the rear end, and the front diff installed. Threw some DTTs in it, front and rear. Mopar seals with Timken/Koyo bearings. Got pretty lucky in that the shim off the old gears worked perfect for the new ones.

    Lsd or full ?

Lokka locks are lunchbox lockers. Not being strong is one of their weak points. For the rear, you can get by with a lunchbox locker, but it will affect handling, and the things are noisy. You could get the Detroit Locker, which is an auto locker and unlike lunchbox lockers, is an entire...

    Cylinder head questions

Can't really comment on the pistons, I have seen a lot worse. From my experience, the cylinders with coolant leaking into them tend to have clean pistons. Hard to tell much with the bottom end without the oil pan coming off and plastigaging the rod and main bearings as well as inspecting...

What did you do to your jeep today?

I have one of those actually. FT-2900R, had it mounted on the center console for a long time. Upgraded to a kenwood D710 and moved the yaesu to the home.

T-case and both diff fluid change

Don't use threadlocker at all. Use the RTV for the covers, and Teflon tape if anything on the plugs.

    P0700, any ideas?

Need to pull the rest of the codes. P0700 is a generic code indicating the transmission has a fault and requests the engine light on. Will likely need an actual scan tool to access the codes.

    The gun thread

Ok, my bing-foo is weak I guess. Taking a hint from the "what did you do to your jeep" thread, I'm starting a new gun thread. Prefer magnums here, 300RUM, 300win, 7mm Rem Mag, and 375H&H. Hoping to add a big bore magnum eventually(416 rem or 458 win). Have a pair of big bore levers as well.
