How to diagnose a bad front diff?

Okay, so the grinding could've been there from the beginning.. I'm not sure how much the jack stand test really proves or disproves in your case. There's just a lot less stress/torque put on a bunch of things down there when doing that. $280 is probably for the wireless version. The wired...

No AC or Heat on KJ Renegade 2005 + Additional Questions

Sounds like your blend door or the actuator (the motor contraption that moves the door) is the issue with your HVAC problem. Regarding the seat fitment, I'm curious to know if seats from the KK would work.

How to diagnose a bad front diff?

Just so I'm understanding, when you started, there was no driveshaft and no noise, then you installed a driveshaft and it started making noise, then you removed driveshaft and it continued to make noise? Bad wheel bearings typically make more (or less) noise when the car leans into corners. If...

2004 Liberty, signs of a failing PCM or bad grounds?

Check for power on pin 16 and grounds on pins 4 and 5 if you didn't do that already. Have you checked if there are any blown fuses?

2004 Liberty, signs of a failing PCM or bad grounds?

Maybe there's a problem with the electrical part of the ignition switch? Also, are you sure the key is turning fully to the start position and there isn't a problem with the ignition actuator pin?

P0340 changed sensor truck still stalling.

According to KBB, P0340 indicates a problem with the wiring on the sensor. I never tinkered with the one on my lib, but typically that sensor has power, ground and the output signal wire. You may want to check yours to see if you have that.

    '07 auto trans ?

My '06 has a dipstick (thankfully), so it may have started on the '07, along with the lovely throttle by wire arrangement. Your trepidation concerning CVTs is not unfounded. I would absolutely pass over any vehicle I was looking at that came with one, even one with 0 miles on the clock.

Rear end whining on power - How to diagnose cause?

Next time you go down there, grab on to the pinion input shaft just to see if there's any lateral movement in it. Have you checked the gear oil level in the diff, BTW? You might want to invest in a ChassisEAR tool, which has microphones you can clamp on to different areas back there plus a...

2004 Liberty, signs of a failing PCM or bad grounds?

From the diagram, it looks like you're supposed to get ground on 85 and power on 86 (the latter when the key is in start position). That would cause the starter motor relay to energize, bonding pins 30 and 87 together, which would send power on down to the starter solenoid.

Fuel Pump Connector and Hose size - 2004 KJ 3.7

I don't know the sizes, but (stupid question alert) can you measure the ones you have to determine the size? What problem are you having exactly?

so I have a bit of throttle lag on my 2004 liberty limited 3.7l

Kindly remind me never to go flying in any airplanes you've repaired, Mr. Aircraft Mechanic  BTW, a cleaner specifically made for cleaning a throttle body is preferred over regular carb cleaner as the latter could remove special coatings that could be on the internal assembly.

New Here, New to Jeeps, New to the 04 KJ I bought last weekend.

And here I thought I was the first one to think up of that idea!

    AC Compressor question....

Technically, you're also supposed to change out the orifice tube and flush the system, as well, when the compressor fails. This is supposed to ensure any potential particulates left in there from the compressor failure are removed and don't do damage to the replacement components. When I...

    COOLANT HOSES WERE BACKWARDS!!

A block test is usually the de facto test for head gasket (and related) issues. Autozone and Advance usually rent those kits out. Compression test results can be misleading in some instances. I, personally, test by pumping compressed air into a cylinder, set the cylinder at TDC, then take the...

3.7 2008 Jeep Liberty Valve seats part number

I think there's more to it than what you're proposing and you'll be risking one falling out again and, this time, possibly causing major engine damage.

Make sure to drain and measure the oil that comes out of the old compressor and put the same amount of clean oil in the new one.

2006 KJ - ABS, traction control and ESP/BAS Christmas tree, but no codes!

You probably have a problem with 1 or more wheel speed sensors. I had one of them go bad, which was caused by a worn wheel bearing, and it caused similar a symptom as you described. If your scanner can't read ABS, it won't show any codes like that, even if they're present. If you have one near...

05 Liberty Radiator Overflow Tank Bubbling Over

What's the temp gauge reading when it happens? You might want to do a block test to confirm combustion gasses aren't entering the coolant system.

Could be worn brushes on the motor commutator. A cheap fix,,,, if you can find brushes to fit.
