What size are the Ring Gear bolts on the Dana 30 Super in my 2002?

No worries, privacy's not my concern, just wanted to focus on the answer I'm looking for instead of the thread getting away from me, which has happened in the past. Doesn't sound like anyone watching knows the answer anyway - so I'll let my big secret out - I went with the Spartan too. Price...

What size are the Ring Gear bolts on the Dana 30 Super in my 2002?

That was where I looked first. Rock Auto is generally my first step in figuring out part numbers etc but as you can see they don't make the situation clear either. I'd rather keep the thread on point instead of getting distracted by a debate about what LSD is the best, which I suspect is what...

What size are the Ring Gear bolts on the Dana 30 Super in my 2002?

I'm preparing to replace my front diff with a a LSD. Having a hard time figuring out what ring gear bolts I need. Some places say they are 3/8" and some say they are 7/16". The new LSD appears to have the option of using either (it has 20 holes, 10 are smaller and 10 are larger). I have an early...

    Help diagnose a clunk

I had a similar clunk when letting off the gas when my rear diff went bad. I narrowed in on the source by crawling around in back as my wife drove. Those clunks can be hard to pinpoint from the driver's seat as things resonate around the car or along the driveshaft.

Puzzled by steering wheel being off 20 degrees?

I checked the toe again using a different method - it is spot on. I can straighten my steering wheel myself. I'd just like to know what moved - if something is about to fail I don't want it to happen at 13,000 ft, miles from nowhere. My biggest concern was whether it could be the steering rack...

Puzzled by steering wheel being off 20 degrees?

I did some rough 4wheelin last weekend in my 02 and my steering wheel is now off by maybe 20 degrees. I'm not aware exactly when it happened and strangely didn't notice the steering wheel was off till the next day. It still tracks and drives fine. I noticed some grumbling coming from the...

    Rock Sliders

Have they given a firm price yet, or at least a range? I've been considering these, just not sure my fabrication skills are up to the task: https://www.jegs.com/i/Trail-Gear/542/120001-1-KIT/10002/-1# Has anyone else tried those? Also, I wouldn't dismiss RRO so fast - there is some bad blood...

OME lift kit - which control arms needed?

I also have no complaints with my Rocky Road Outfitters upper control arms. https://www.rocky-road.com/jeep-liberty-control-arms.html Quality, fit and customer service were both excellent from my perspective. They also seem to be one of the few companies still developing cool stuff for the...

OME lift kit - which control arms needed?

From my experience you should go with the JBA or RRO upper front control arms. Don't throw away your money on labor and parts for new stock type control arms - when lifted, the stock control arms can hit the springs (my pass side one did) and the ride will be harsh because your front wheels will...

OME lift kit - which control arms needed?

Can someone explain the benefits of the adjustable aftermarket rear lower control arms? I've actually been very happy with the way the stock ones work back there but maybe I'm missing something?

OME lift kit - which control arms needed?

I don't know squat about the need for a special rear upper control arm with a lift but my stock one seems to work fine with my OME lift so I bet yours will too. The JBA (and RRO) upper A-arms are front only - they don't work on the rear which is a very different design (see below - this is from...

OME lift kit - which control arms needed?

I bought the OME springs and Bilstein shocks/struts so should be similar to your setup - I can't speak to the rear shock length issue in your kit though but mine works great so I assume mine are longer? The stock O'Reilly front upper control arms will not work well because the balljoints will be...

Removing seized 02 3.7 engine with torque converter attached

Got it! Definitely need to remove the motor mounts from the block when doing this and protect your radiator since the motor needs to come that much further forward with the torque converter hanging off the back. Also don't forget an oil drain pan since the TC will dump some fluid (probably a...

Removing seized 02 3.7 engine with torque converter attached

Thanks Dougmac. I've got everything disconnected and will hopefully get it out today. I figure I'll remove both mounts just to make sure I can pull straight forward and not put the transmission input shaft under any stress. I've got a very long list of swear words prepped and plan to use every...

Removing seized 02 3.7 engine with torque converter attached

So my motor went kaboom and seized - assuming major internal damage. I'm working on pulling it but can't get to the torque converter bolts since I can't rotate the engine. I realize I can probably remove the transmission and transfer case first but would rather not go there if I don't have to...

    Arb bumper

If you still have it I'd like to find a way to buy that bumper off you if we could figure it out Linda. I'm in Durango, CO and occasionally get down that way but it might be a few months. I'll try to PM you.

    02 HVAC Issues

Thanks. There doesn't seem to be any flow out of the vents on setting 1, even when moving. So where is the resistor pack and what would I need to replace to fix it? I really think I have air flow accross the heater core causing the warm air in problem 2). If it's 60 degrees out and I'm doing...

Loud clunk in front after OME lift

I had exactly the same issue after I installed my lift (OME springs + Bilsteins + clevis) but it was just on the passenger side. I suspect the stock upper control arm was hitting the spring but I could never see any evidence of contact?? Anyway, I installed some RRO upper control arms a couple...
