    DIY LiFePO4 Battery for Jeepy

Working on a cool project for the KK. I built a trunk box with a tool drawer back in 2014, and it has some additional space behind the rear seats for a washer fluid bottle and some picnic blankets. It started out as a drawing and ended up being made out of wood. The trunk, measured very...

    O2 Fault Codes

Yes I think if your O2 sensor is sending the wrong reading to the ECM, you might not have the right ratio of gas:air and it can misfire and run badly. On the other hand, if you had a pre-existing misfire and a bunch of unburned gas was going down the exhaust, it can destroy O2 sensors and...

What did you do to your jeep today?

Working on a cool project for the KK. I built a trunk box with a tool drawer about 10 years ago, and it has some additional space behind the rear seats for a washer fluid bottle and some picnic blankets. I am repurposing half the additional space behind the rear seats by building a custom...

AC refrigerant leaking from black tube after being charged

I have one for the KK but it is different than the KJ. Google “Jeep Liberty Heater Core Replacement” and YouTube and I am sure you will find several walk-throughs for the KJ. I know you’re doing an evaporator but the heater core is more common and the dash disassemble would be the same.

Welcome, Neil. :D I’m sure you will find some familiar faces from LOST here. Wheel speed sensor was my first thought as well.

NEED 4.56 RING AND PINION FOR MY KJ

I have never heard of anyone swapping a KK front differential into a KJ. It would necessitate the KK CV axles and front running gear being swapped over with it. Possibly also the engine cradle where the diff attaches… I am not sure how much of an expensive chain reaction would ensue by trying to...

    Small Evap leak, P0456

Thanks for posting this. As out Jeeps age P0456 will plague more and more of them. I have tried to sort that code on my in-laws’ 04 WJ to no avail.

NEED 4.56 RING AND PINION FOR MY KJ

Yes the D30 case on the KK is compatible with the non-rubicon JK D30 gears. Thus a KK can run 4.10, 4.56, or even 4.88. I only heard of one guy who ran 4.88 and he said that was going way too far because he could not fit tires large enough to match.

AC refrigerant leaking from black tube after being charged

You mentioned your AC had dye put into it. That stuff is Ghostbusters green, if that’s the color of liquid you’re seeing coming out the tube. Or at least that’s what was coming from my compressor when it needed replacing.

AC refrigerant leaking from black tube after being charged

True, as I’ve done a heater core on mine. Not really a pain. Sort of therapeutic if building things out of Legos is a way you relax.

What did you do to your jeep today?

Fixed the drivers rear brake squeak today by replacing those 4 clips that the brake pads slide back and forth in. Now it is dead silent. Love it.

    The BatCar

Love my Scangauge II. It has helped me keep fuel costs down by making me a more efficient driver. It has also diagnosed and cleared engine codes and displayed voltage, coolant temp, and transmission temp (that last one takes some programming). The temperature gauges have been great for wheeling...

    New Keys

That’s a bummer, nbas. Maybe it is an export thing, but there is also a limit to the number of keys that can be programmed using the do-it-yourself procedure. If the previous owners made a lot of keys, that could explain why you are out of luck.

The best price I found was at MoparOriginalParts.com. Still kind of pricey but city driving, trailer towing, and wheeling were making the floor HOT. Part Number Part Name Price Quantity Total 55113276AE Floor Pan Shield $91.57 1 $91.57 6512316AA Stamped Hex Flange Nut $7.50 4...

What did you do to your jeep today?

I rotated the tires today and took a good look at the brakes. The pads are still decently thick and wearing evenly. The squeaking that has been driving me nuts is a missing anti-rattle clip / brake pad slider on the drivers rear inboard brake pad. Not sure what the actual name of this tiny...

What did you do to your jeep today?

I should probably let it drip on a white paper towel to confirm the color of my own bell housing leak. I wiped it off today didn’t pay too much attention, but I thought it was brown like the engine oil.
