11 miles per gallon.....it's not good, but is it bad?
I am driving a rental Jeep Gladiator today and it got 17 mpg on my regular commute where the KK gets 12. Also it is averaging 22 on the highway. Not bad, and it has some zip. The technology has improved since 2008. Oh and this one is geared correctly for its tire size.- lfhoward

I have a set of 4 simple deflators that screw onto the valve stems and let air out. I didn’t use them this time though. Just used the back side of my tire pressure gauge where there is a nub for pressing in the schrader valve. 35 seconds per tire took it from 34 to 22 psi. I was thinking I would...- lfhoward

Wife's '12 KK fan selector stuck on defrost
Sorry to hear that. This happened to my 08 a few years ago and I needed to swap in a new air distribution box (basically a heater core dash-off repair). Fuel tank swap
My 08 has a center mounted 19.5 gallon tank and a spare tire where the KJ fuel tank was in the rear. I have always wondered if it would be possible to install a KJ tank (and skid plate of course) and use it as an auxiliary tank that can feed the main one. I would modify the above, you can remove the front sway bar *off road*. Removing it on road and then needing to do an unexpected evasive maneuver can cause a rollover.- lfhoward

Will 245/70R17 fit stock Liberty KK?
No, the 2010 KK has 14 year old springs and has sagged even more since this thread was started. You still need a 2.5” lift to run that size. You could probably put those wheels on now but you’d have bad rubbing issues when turning and articulating the suspension over bumps. You would need to do...- lfhoward

2008 Liberty Rear End Diff Swap
All the automatic transmission KK’s were 3.73 gear ratio in 2008. If you have a manual transmission it will be different. They were 3.23 IIRC.- lfhoward

You can go to a 4.88 in a KK front diff, but I can’t imagine how you’d get tires that large to fit under it with the limitations of IFS. At this point a SFA swap would make more sense.- lfhoward

2002 fuel tank flange
That’s a bummer. I am not sure this part comes without a whole new fuel pump attached. But with an 02, your Liberty may need one soon anyway. Replacing the whole unit could save you the hassle of being stranded down the road.- lfhoward

Yes, they are side specific. I remember the driver side one being kind of a pain to get in. Especially the rear bolt, which you have to reach underneath the wheel well from outside of the engine bay to get it in. Nice work! Amazing that it is plug and play with no reprogramming. Can you show a picture of the new steering wheel? Is it like the old one with the stalk or is it one of the new style wheels with buttons on the spokes?
