    odometry

Ok... going to try to make this as simple as I can... So you just put bigger tires on and you tried to figure out you gas mileage and it looks exponentially terrible. This formula will give you the miles you really drove. new tire height divided by old tire height then take your odometer...

Liberty doesn't move at full lock

no... anything compared to anything else that's not the same is fuji apples to granny smith apples or red delicious apples to navel oranges... not every vehicle made, and not even every vehicle made by one manufacturer has identicle geometry. different suspensions, different track widths...

To "build" my KJ or not - at a cross roas

why not just go pick up an old blazer for $500, put a tow bar on the front of it, and tow it around behind your kj? parts are cheap, any neighbor's kid that likes cars could work on it, most of it's stock parts are already more heavy duty than most upgrades for the KJ. you can trim the fenders...

    4-Lo Issue

probably just need an adjustment on the shifter. mine was doing that for a while, shop looked at it cuz it was under warranty, that was the problem

    A seat cover question...

The water stains are really easy to clean up... oddly, can even use water to clean them, or maybe now my seats are just one uniform discoloration... but they still look nice. i have used an aerosol upholstery cleaner from walmart and a washcloth.

Liberty doesn't move at full lock

noticed mine wasn't binding today, maybe i was just remembering pre-alignment. i'm reasonably confident that an alignment will solve the issue. at full lock your inside (the turn) tire should be turned a little further than the outside, if it's not, or it's too much, it'll bind in the turn...

Liberty doesn't move at full lock

the tj is apples to oranges... solid axle, different geometry. The older liberties (pre lowered) probably even have different geometry. just because of slightly different angles. transmission won't make a difference. it's binding between all the wheels the two fronts at full lock will be at...

What's on the Docket for January?

    JPOTM January: Before/after

mine isn't a contender here... only some lift and tires and bumper cutting, and off road lights, and painted trim... hmm... well, may be more of a contender than some so I guess I'll try to dig up the pic from the day i bought it, but darn it, too cold to wash it right now

New 06 Renegade Owner w/ Tire Questions

avoid running spacers... more likely to rub. at full turn it's put the shoulder of your tire closer to the pinch weld, and on the rear at articulation, the shoulder of the tire will be just that much more into your flares. oh, and 90% or more of tire or mechanic shops will not do any tire or...

Liberty doesn't move at full lock

short wheelbase and sharp turning radius equals binding... at full lock mine is tough to get to move too. it's something in the steering geometry i'm sure

    235/85R16 fits

Using my GPS I determined that my odometer is now about 1mph lower reading than my actual speed now, instead of 4mph higher than actual that I got with my stock tires. But of course now the odometer is off by around 7%. I figured out how to adjust mathematically to be able to figure out what the...

Dome light will not turn off.

ya, try turning the dashlight dimmer switch? one wire is positive, the other two are grounds. if the multifunction switch is off, then you probably have one of those grounds touching metal somewhere that it shouldn't instead of going through the switch to ground, it's just grounding itself and...
