Yes I am definitely going for it. Unless there is something really wrong that I don't know about but I thought you said yourself that you drove a 6in lift KJ and it was fine so do you think the JBA 4in Y link will be enough for a 2in cradle drop please ?
Thanks Tom that starts to make sense now. So do you think this is not too much trouble to fit the 4.88? I won't be doing the job myself but I was worried to start telling the guy who will do it that the gear and pinion would not fit in the differential without grinding the teeth.
The 8.25 in any year of the KJ,and KK,uses the same gears so be it a '02 KJ with the 8.25 or a '12 KK with the 8.25 you can regear to 4.56's.There are 4.88's out there but you must grind down some of the ring gears teeth to get the center pin back in.
Hi TJKJ, I don't want to be a pain in the...
I am going to have my CVs machined by a local guy here in UK. He asked me me a couple of questions to which I was not able to reply so please TJKJ or any of you guys who have the knowledge your help here would be greatly appreciated.
So here it goes: I understand that the inner cup of the CV...
Thanks for this Tom I really appreciate your advice. Cost wise apart from the steel diff there isn't much difference. I lack a bit of information about what needs to be done on the CVs, I mean precisely where and how much has to go. But apart from that I believe it's a matter of lowering the...
Reposted this thread as it was probably in the wrong place.
I was seriously thinking to go up to 6in of lift but I found a post from a guy (he will recognize himself if he reads this but it wouldn't be right to give his name without his agreement) who was wheeling with the JBA 6in for a while...
Let me tell you Shane,
Not only Billwill knows his stuff about Jeep KJs but he also knows about engineering in general and electric in particular !! This man is a Gold mine of knowledge.
He helped me thousands of miles away via this forum to cure an extremely annoying electrical problem I...

I sent you a pm. I would be very grateful if you could reply.
Of course not as much as what I currently run...
Bloody Hell !!! Very impressive !!!
I couldn't see these pictures last night as I was using the computer at work. It allows me to log in sites like this but its Censorship doesn't download pictures.
This is mad to have so much suspension...

Yes bear in mind I have a CRD so the first thing if I want to go above 22" would be to get my CVs machined. If only I knew what needs to be done to the CVs I know...
Thanks Tom,
Great pic this one !! I can tell the difference of lift between the two but it's difficult to tell the difference of tyre size. Maybe yours seem a little bit narrower as I suppose you are on 32x11.50 and he is on 33x12.50.
Anyway yes I am going to seriously think about this as...
Thanks again man. You've enlightened me on that particular subject.
Not that I believe in Santa anymore but there are guys on Facebook with KJ who say they ride on 33"s and their lift doesn't seem to be much higher than mine so that used to bug me.
I suppose all depends how they use their...
Any idea about the effect of 4.10 ratio with 31"s tyres for the NSG370 6-speed overdrive manual transmission ? As it's what I've got fitted on my 2.8CRD.
Thanks TJKJ, Now that makes sense !! And I am glad to know that I could go up to 4.56 ratio in my own diff. I was going to have an ARB Air locker fitted in the rear so I thought I might as well re-gear.
The big dilemma I have now is that I am only at 22" between wheel hub and fender at front...
Yes that's really amazing as they are THE Specialist. And they supply 2 different pictures of 8.25" Differentials.
If we can't rely of what Yukon says about differentials ..... who can we trust?
Thanks for the info about the JBA steel diff it seems that is the only way to fit 4.56 ratio with an IFS then.
I am now in the Yukon website and they show 2 models of Chrysler 8.25".
The one used on Liberty 2005 to 2013 (C213R/C213RE) they make only one Ring & pinion gear set in a 3.55...
