JeepCables battery cable installation help!? (SOLVED)
Turns out there is quite a bit of clearence under the side of the cover, so I adapted the orignal connector. Assuming my cables can reach a good spot to mount the fuse, I like this better than bending the connectors or cutting the cover. The black wire in the picture isn't correct, I just...- psyon

After determing my battery cables were shot, I ordered a set of cables from jeepcables.com. Has anyone here installed their kit on a Jeep KJ? I am not sure what a good mounting location is for the fuse, and I am not sure how to make the PDC connections work since they don't bend down so the...- psyon

Mine appears to be after the relay/fuse box. The wire between the battery and the posts on the box has no drop really at all. Rather than replace some of the wires, only to realize I need to replace another and another, I just decided to buy a kit to replace them all. I originally bought this...- psyon

Well, it's not the ignition wire. Everything is pointing to the battery cables being bad, but I had put jumper cables between the battery and starter, and it didn't make a difference. Ok, I am trying to fully understand the issue with the starter, because I like to understand why a problem happens, and not just what fixes it. Well, this first snow of the year is here, so no working on it right now. I just bought a remote start switch though. When I can get back under the jeep I figure that will either tell me the wire between the solenoid and the relay has an issue, or will help me recheck everything else.- psyon

To answer my own question here, if it was the connection to the battery, then it should have helped when I tried to jump start it the other day. I am leaning towards the wire between the solenoid and the starter relay at this point.- psyon

Replaced the cam shaft position sensor, and it started! Well, after a couple tries, still having the starter issue. The engine never threw a code regarding the cam position sensor, but it appears it was rubbing. I had checked the gap, and it seemed ok, but I just pulled it to double check today, and there was some metal shavings on it. I am also not sure what's going on in the lower left, where it looks...- psyon

I just don't like when two problems start at the same time and aren't somehow related. If it's trying to fire over when the fuel pump is disabled, would that mean it's getting too much pressure so the injectors are flooding the engine?- psyon

I took a break from the starter and checked the ignition issue again. I pulled the fuel pump relay and got it to crank over, and it seemed like it wanted to fire but then died. Did that a few times, and when I put the relay back in, it didn't want to fire at all again.- psyon

I got jumper cables on to the starter connection from positive, and then also clipped onto the body of the starter and back to negative on the battery. The engine cranked for a moment, and then disengaged. We checked the wire from the starter relay to the solenoid for continuity when cranking...- psyon

Checked for voltages where voltage should be, and continuity to ground where things should be grounded. When I last tried, it seemed like it wanted to fire. A bit of smoke even came out the exhaust.- psyon

Also, I didn't disable fuel pump and such. I assumed it was because you don't want gas shooting into the cylinder when testing, but would that make a difference on the voltage drop?- psyon

Voltage drop on both the positive cable to the connector on the starter, and body of the starter to the negative terminals are the same. When I initially turn the key, it goes to 0.24v, but holds between 0.19-0.21 while cranking. When the starter disengages and just spins, both were dropping...- psyon
